Not sure what the problem is but wondered if it's reasonable to think that it's a fault with the programmer so, if I'm going to change it, then to opt for the EP2? I have been using a Potterton EP6000 programmer for some 21 years for my CH system and replaced the 48volt relays when they slowly burnt out over the years, but now the membrane hardly works when pressing the buttons so purchased a new Potterton EP2. Instructions good, but you also need to use the supplied installer instructions to get it working right for you. A direct replacement for my old worn out EP2002, easy to remove, simply pop a flat screwdriver into the small slot underneath and lever upwards. For example ID1 will provide 2 on off sequences for both hot water and heating separately at different times Mon- Fri and Sat and Sun.

I do not have any of these, but the manual mentions EP2000, EP2002, EP3002 and EP6002 so I guess all of those are just as easy to replace with the EP2. My only minor criticism with the design is the software which leaves the LED screen on full, glaring out it's bright blue display 24/7 for no reason. However, I tried to switch on the CH recently after not being used for several months and it fails to trigger the boiler to put the CH on. What is amazing is that the old EP6000 kept the LED's on 24/7 slowly burning them out after the years had gone by and yet after some 21 years later they still have them on blasting out a blue light all over the room at night. Read the instructions but still no luck in clearing out all the seven days of the week along the top of the screen.
