Clear diction but considering so many male characters the narrators voice seemed almost the same for the narration plus the female characters and also the male ones.

A small English Village, a murder mystery and a dognapping plot—this book has all the elements that I would enjoy, and I expected to enjoy it very much, but sadly, this one didn’t work for me at all. Ronnie was under investigation for selling illegal endangered animal parts at the time of his death. The book has plenty of twists and turns, a great pace for the plot and it is a gripping story - 5stars from me for this one and looking forward to book 5! Her sleuthing takes her from the sun-drenched beaches of Saint-Tropez to the cafes and backstreets of Arles, across lavender fields and stunning medieval ruins and straight into the evil hands of her most diabolical adversary yet.We may use this information to make you recommendations about offers or content that we believe you will find interesting. His seemingly mild-mannered political rival can't seem to place himself at the time of death either. I would like to thank Netgalley and Joffe Books for a review copy of Murder in the Village, the fourth novel to feature DI Hillary Greene of Thames Valley Police. Interrupting her ongoing investigation is a raid by the Vice Squad on a garden centre to recover guns being sold. Hillary is pleased to be appointed Senior Investigating Officer in the murder of aspiring politician, Malcolm Dale, found bludgeoned to death in his kitchen but with few clues and several suspects her team will have to work hard to find the killer.

Hillary and her team interview possible witnesses, friends, acquaintances and relatives of Malcolm Dale. The books are full of twists and turns, told with a directness and lack of unnecessary detail that makes them very easy to read. Murder in the Village has quite a bit of humour running throughout which added to how much I loved this book. Greene is a natural and instinctive detective with an uncanny ability to see when something isn't right.Usually I have the attention span of a gnat and I am easily distracted but not in this case, as I was able to cut out all other noise and avoid any distraction. The narrator did an excellent job of helping breathe more life into these well developed characters.

For two decades, Nancy has thought her mother was dead - until she discovered she was spotted at a party at a country estate five months ago. When Harry Powell, a retired dectective, moves into Belinda's small town, he certainly had no intention to be dealing with yet another murder. I loved the heroine, castle-owner and business angel Belinda Penshurst, who rushes in where angels fear to tread.I recently had the delight of reading and reviewing ‘Murder Of The Bride’ by Faith Martin, which is the previous book in the series featuring DI Hilary Greene, and I absolutely loved it. Reading this book was a bit like being on a rollercoaster ride with all the twists, turns and the odd occasional stomach churning moment. Her hobbies include walking her now ageing dog, wildlife-watching, reading and (reluctantly) gardening.
