Description

While being interviewed, Optimus spoke of his 'bot Sentinel Prime and his views on organics. He then expressed his desire to escape his subjugation at the hands of Isaac Sumdac, and to crush Megatron and his absurdly loyal second-in-command. The AllSpark Almanac Addendum The Complete AllSpark Almanac Notes Jerkass Has a Point: In Dai Atlas's own words, the best Cybertronians to perform mining and medical work are those that are constructed for such tasks, and Orion reluctantly agreed with him that he himself would not last in Megatron's occupation, nor would he feel comfortable being operated on by a “lamppost”. Downplayed, as this is mostly an excuse both use to not even try to reform the system. He and Alpha Trion discussed their plot to assassinate both faction leaders as the final step in their paths of personal conquest, with Trion's agent going after Megatron while Rodimus's agents took down Optimus Prime. Rodimus concluded the conversation by saying that once Prime and Megatron were out of the way, Trion would be free to rule Cybertron, while Rodimus would have complete control over Earth. Reunification: Part 3

In 2008, the Transformers twisted parallel universe was revealed – the Shattered Glass universe, a dark mirror where the roles and factions have been reversed. The once heroic Autobots are now an evil army, with their leader, Optimus Prime, an ambitious conqueror who stops at nothing, and who is known to modify his comrades into killing machines. The traditionally heroic Optimus Prime now sports a ghastly and sinister purple hue on his body, reflecting the bold and terrifying mirror universe. This mold was also used to make the rather-similar-looking Gentei! Gentei! Wildrider and Timelines Side Burn.Big Guy, Little Guy: Jetfire and Starscream. Starscream can only see eye to eye with him when the former is sitting.

Fantastic Caste System: Before the war, Cybertron had a strict caste system, featuring manuals like the future Megatron, archivists such as Orion Pax, and "disposables" that included Soundwave and his Minicons. The Autobots continue to uphold it under Optimus Prime's regime, while the Decepticons have opposed it ever since their formation as a movement. In the original Fun Pub stories, Shattered Glass Optimus's pre-Prime name was Optronix, a name which originated from Dreamwave's Transformers comics. Meanwhile, as is often the case in Transformers media, IDW's SG Optimus started out as Orion Pax. Though he changed his name, upon successfully conquering Cybertron, Optimus Prime dubbed his territory 'Pax'.

This series provides examples of:

Adaptational Badass: In Fun Pubs Shattered Glass, Prowl was basically a non-entity, while Goldbug spent much of the latter parts of the series acting as The Starscream to Rodimus Prime, with about as much success. In this world, both of them have successfully taken territory for themselves and are described as warlords in their own right. Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Despite Flareup's defection to the Decepticons and renaming as Flamewar, primarily to save herself from aiding Ultra Magnus's failed coup attempt, Slipstream prefers to keep her at a distance. Never My Fault: Optimus refuses to take responsibility for any of his crimes, from the murder of Sentinel Prime that he pinned on Megatron to the destruction of the Cybertronian colony of Prion. It's implied that Flamewar is slowly coming to sincerely regret everything she's done when she was still with the Autobots. Motor Mouth: Blurr does this but in a twist on the usual concept, he can actually talk at normal speed. His internal narration implies that he has to put effort into slowing his speech down and dislikes having to do it.

Bounty Hunter: Arcee and Cliffjumper in this story are unaligned mercenaries who work for whoever will pay them the most. Wasteland Warlord: Optimus, Goldbug, and Prowl have become this following the end of the Great War with them splitting control of Cybertron between themselves as much of the rest of Cybertron is unhospitable. MDLX Shattered Glass Optimus Prime has been redesigned by threezero, taking inspiration from the original G1 Transformers animated series. It boasts stunning detail, with threezero’s renowned weathered paint technique. The upper body is coated in metallic purple and silver, while the lower body features a dominant metallic blue tone, and his head features sinister dark red optics. The mechanical patterns on each joint are sharply defined with expert sculpt work. The detail on his transparent chest window includes the signature shattered glass, portraying the fierce and menacing nature of MDLX Shattered Glass Optimus Prime. While the line of reissues itself was first established in 2021, the products listed specifically under the Generations brand are only the 2022 and 2023 products.

Hayato Sakamoto proposed a Shattered Glass version of Transformers: Prime, fittingly named Transformers Prime: Shattered Glass. [1] [2] In the present day, Rodimus promised that his assassins would take down Optimus Prime at the same time Alpha Trion's agents took down Megatron, thus paving the way for their own conquering. Reunification: Part 3 Ascended Extra: The character roster is shuffled around compared to the original Shattered Glass continuity. Jetfire gains a much more significant role in this continuity, complete with a toy, while he was a very minor Autobot agent in the Fun Publication stories. Defector from Decadence: Two members of Strika's team, Flamewar (formerly Flareup) and Brainstorm defected from the Autobots-the former after her part in Ultra Magnus's attempt on Optimus's life came out, the latter after he was left behind by his fellow Autobots when they retreated from their base.

When Aquarius, Breakaway, Landquake, and Topspin arrived at the Decepticons' base to ask after Heatwave, Megatron welcomed them in, with the proviso that they explain why they were looking for Heatwave and being chased by Computron. After Landquake finished said explanation, Megatron sent Cyclonus to fetch Heatwave. As they waited, he told Aquarius that he looked forward to an alliance between the Decepticons and Quintessons. Once Heatwave arrived, Megatron told their visitors that he hoped his "skilled soldier" could answer their questions. When Megatron and his remaining followers launched a full-scale assault on Gold City, Ratchet took part in the battle, but paused when he overheard the sound of Starscream dying and Jetfire screaming in agony. Shattered Glass #5 This toy was repurposed as an Angolmois-corrupted form of Generation 1 Ratchet in Generations Selects Special Comic.

Product Added

The product description for the set made mention of Shattered Glass comics by IDW Publishing, [2] either being a mis-credit of Fun Publications comic or a far too-early mention of IDW's 2021 Shattered Glass comic. Airachnid has issues with organic lifeforms just as Arcee and Cliffjumper see her as a "bug". The former gets better, the latter two don't. Egopolis: Goldbug's seat of power is Gold City. Optimus Prime rules over Pax (from his original name, Orion Pax).
