Prior to her literary success, Cole had a variety of low-paid jobs, including working as a cleaner, a wine waitress, an agency nurse and a supermarket shelf-stacker. With brilliantly-written characters, a terrible disturbing story that is brutally compelling, and plenty of twists and turns with an unpredictable ending; I can't wait to see what's next from Martina. I can’t say that this is the best book I’ve read recently, Many years ago I was a great fan of Martina Cole, but maybe I’ve grown out of them a little.

of this book is about this new family no one cares about and you can guess who the murderer is in the first 100 pages. there was not much happening in the book, even though it has around 500 pages and you would expect more from that.

I hadn't read any of her earlier books and found the relationship between Kate and Patrick interesting and really thought the story was going somewhere. Maritina Cole has done it again and again and again what a brilliant exiting novel that you just can not put down as much as you need sleep you genuinely have to stay awake, it's not only brilliantly written, it's gripping from the first chapter onwards you constantly want to know what coming next its like taking a ride on a rollercoaster the thrills the ups and downs it's clever its sad it's good and real family orientated as all her books are but you can never get enough. I always like reading Cole’s books as sometimes you just need to sit back and read without engaging brain so much and let her take you on a journey. We see a vulnerable side to Patrick as he is still grieving the death of his daughter, but life has thrown him a surprise and it may just be exactly what he needs…or is it?
