I tested the flash durations using the Sekonic L-858d-u light meter, and the results were all better than the figures Godox includes on the display. Fully compatible with the latest Godox 2.4Ghz X-Series triggers, the AD300Pro’s built-in receiver continues the success of the user friendly X1T, X2T and XPro. Using these latest Godox X-Series of triggers, the AD300Pro allows full TTL and HSS remote power control up to 100m (~300ft) away. It can fully support Canon E-TTL, Nikon i-TTL, Sony TTL, Fuji TTL and Olympus TTL systems.

The AD300 Pro comes with an advanced lithium-ion battery that has been designed for performance, making it more reliable than ever when shooting on location. The battery is loaded into the underside of the unit to keep it super compact due to its small size, whilst still offering a recycle time of just 0.01-1.5s with up to approximately 320 full power flashes. The AD300 Pro battery is completely interchangeable, allowing one to be on charge whilst the other is firing away. Depending on the size of your parcel, the courier covering your area and your location these parcels may take between 1 and 5 days to arrive. The AD300 Pro features all the unique features of the Godox Wistro AD range and offers a strong power output of 300Ws. Unlike the AD200 / AD200 Pro, the AD300 Pro has a built-in fan, allowing you to shoot for longer without overheating. Featuring a circular round head design much like the AD600Pro and AD400Pro, this specialised glass protected flash tube allows you to achieve the most out of the 300Ws power of the AD300 Pro. I will give credit to Godox for improving the light quality of this modeling lamp. It has a CRI average of 95.4, which means it does a decent job at accurately representing colors, and its Kelvin temperature was accurate when testing with my Sekonic C-800 colorimeter. Testing the Godox AD300 Pro Bi-Color LED with the Sekonic C-800 Color Accuracy However, Godox learned from the AD200 and what they learned they applied to the Pro. On the AD200 Pro they improved the recycle time from 0.01-2.1s to 0.01 to 1.8s, as well as offering a greater choice of power ranges (1/256-1/1 in 1/10th stop increments instead of 1/128-1/1 in 8 stops). They also improved upon the design of the flash by adding a sunken LCD screen to the unit which protects the screen against damage in the case of being dropped or blown over.

The Main Features

In high-speed sync however, the color temperature drops to the 5300K range, with a CRI of 95 and .4 green cast, which is still acceptable and will only require a minor adjustment. You may find however that when combined with a softbox, especially one with a white interior, that the AD300 Pro in HSS renders a subject overly warm when in a daylight or cloudy environment. T.1 Flash durations. This having been said, the AD100 Pro isn’t the most powerful of lights, in fact, it is the least powerful of the AD range, meaning that it may not be what every photographer needs! If you require more power from your flash or need a burst of light to overpower the sun, this isn’t the flash for you! In it’s included reflector, at 2 feet away, the modeling lamp metered at F/2 +.2, at 1/250s and ISO 400. This means just over F/1.0 at ISO 100. It’s extremely dim, and that’s when it’s close, using a reflector. In any type of softbox, it’s going to be even less bright, and less useable. Some might wonder if this will function as a video light, and I just don’t see it being very useful. Not only because of it’s low brightness, but also the fan creates a fair amount of noise when the LED is on max power. At most I imagine you’ll be able to use the LED for lighting close detail shots and getting focus in dark environments.

Whilst the AD600 Pro is a wireless flash, powered by rechargeable Li-ion Batteries, an AC adapter is available to create a mains-powered flash head. This AC adapter is great for studio work as it means that neither you nor your work is restricted by battery power on longer shoots. By offering the choice between mains or battery-powered, the AD600 Pro becomes an even more versatile, lighting option for all shoots! The Godox AD range of flash heads is by far the most popular of the Godox flash series and for good reason! Every light is powerful, portable, lightweight and exceptionally high quality, so it's no wonder that photographers are all looking to expand their kit using these lighting solutions. However, a few of the questions we often get asked are, what exactly is the difference between the lights in this series, what can each power level of the AD range get you, and which modifiers will these lights work with? To answer these questions, and more, we have created a comprehensive guide to buying your Godox AD flash head! The strobe is equally accurate as the AD200 Pro in it’s stable color mode, at +/-100k. With stable color off it’s +/-200k. Testing with the C-800 colorimeter, I saw color temperatures in the 5900-6000k range with color stable mode on. Stable color mode can be turned on or off in the custom functions. When off, the flash durations are shorter. At flash power settings up to and including 1/4 maximum power, recycle speeds proved virtually instantaneous in our tests, official specifications rating them at around 1/100th of a second. Recycling is still fast at 1/2 and full-power settings, recorded at 0.5 and 1.5 seconds respectively.Photographers from diverse skill levels will find something to like about the AD-Pro range. From its compact and portable design to its impressive output, advanced features, and overall performance, these lights have fast become a staple in the toolkits of professionals and enthusiasts alike. There is a light for everyone in the Godox AD-Pro range, from the tiny AD100Pro, the uniquely designed AD200Pro, up to the very powerful AD400Pro and AD600Pro. All offer different power outputs but are built around the same fundamentals of portable battery power and one unifying wireless system for controlling any and all lights in the range. If you live in an outer-lying area allow a bit longer - some of these areas are only covered once a week. While I put little weight in the aesthetics of photography tools, the display and buttons do look dated when compared to the competition.
