I have bought copies of the book to share with friends who are teachers as this is the kind of book my primary classes would have loved me to read to them. We are experiencing delays with deliveries to many countries, but in most cases local services have now resumed. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. She completed her MA in Children's Illustration from the prestigious Cambridge Anglia Ruskin course in April 2021. When sharing this book with my class, it really made them think and predict about how the animal’s problem could be solved.

After many years working as an illustrator / designer, her passion for picture books led her to study a MA in Children's Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art and graduated in 2021. An interesting part of the story is not only seeing how quickly a situation can spiral out of control but also how the larger animals are quite happy to ignore the problem until it becomes a problem for them - so lots of parallels with real life. Rising water turns from a little problem into a big problem but they realise if they work together they. This is an important story, cleverly told and beautifully drawn, say the judges, full of little details that allow children to explore its world, even if they can’t yet read the story. Does the book contain anything that teachers would wish to know about before recommending in class (strong language, sensitive topics etc.Not only is Mariajo Ilustrajo’s storytelling deft and attention grabbing, but the way she sequences the story, with huge landscape images against comic style intimate commentary, is assured. I haven't charted out my visits for the summer term, but I'm sure there are several in the south) and thanks so much for being so fantastic! You can see it as an allegory for climate change but the attitudes and responses would fit with how to face and deal with any large problem that seems difficult to solve. We really liked this story, the meaning and the thought behind it and also the slightly quirky illustrations that bring it to life.

This page is an allegory to the attitudes we have seen towards climate change over the years, and it only seems to becoming a more pressing issue as more and more people are adversely affected, through droughts, wildfires etc. The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. It's a very light touch story that could be enjoyed as it is, but which could also lead to discussions about more serious topics. It was selected by the Unpublished Children's Books Showcase, as the third most voted project, with 29 votes from the jury. However as we read on, we’re aware that through the lofty pulse of the pen and ink city are scrawls of an urgent yellow tail.

At first they adjust by wearing wellies and splashing in puddles until the water rises beyond ankle deep.
