However, what’s here sounds like a decent presentation of a 1978 soundtrack and that shouldn’t be dismissed, despite its inherent weaknesses.

Most of you will have seen both of these documentaries by now, but—if you’re new to them—the less said the better. Far less subtle but no less impressive is the Orca leaving the harbour filmed through the jaws of a shark; our heroes are steaming, quite literally, into jaws of death. marks the 45th anniversary of the release of Jaws 2 (watch it Here), the most well-regarded of the Jaws sequels – and Universal is celebrating the occasion by giving the film a 4K Uhd release! Not only does the film and sound look better even that it did even during its initial theatrical release, it’s hard to imagine that it could ever look better.Aside from that, the image looks very good, many of the scenes appear very bright and vivid, and I have to say that I wasn’t expecting such a good, clean picture from this movie. Primaries appear slightly more vibrant and with more nuance to their shading, this is especially noticeable in the outdoor scenes and while the overall sense of colour timing doesn’t appear to have changed significantly (there’s no hints of blues turning cyan or whites turning yellow), the entire image now looks richer (not unnaturally so either) and simply far more pleasing. Bass is firm when needed, the dialogue is clean and clear at all times, and Williams’ score benefits well from the added space and lossless fidelity. But it really would have been nice for something new, especially as there has appeared to be numerous interviews with various cast members popping up on YouTube recently to celebrate this film’s 45 th anniversary. Got a bit of a Jaws collection in my mancave and happy to add this to sit alongside the lenticular CE 4K release of the first film.Black level is wonderful, adding superb depth to frame while holding shadow detail when required, minor crush on Brody’s black sweater in the Orca cabin at night, but that’s always been the case; but the darkness of the water at night is amazing. The Making of Jaws 2– This 40 minute documentary entitled (aptly enough), The Making of Jaws 2 has some interviews with the cast and crew, this tells of the headaches it took to get the movie made as well as following a movie like Jaws. Chief Brody (Roy Scheider) is still doing his thing, though there have been some accidents that lead him to believe that the shark attacks might start up again.
