The type of fish book you buy is important because the topic should interest you. If you are looking for a book that goes into detail on freshwater aquarium fish, then a book on tropical reef fish may not interest you. Whereas if you are looking for a book for kids, then you should choose a book that is kid-friendly and is easy to read, and filled with activities and information that will appeal to kids. Illustrations Gone Fishin’ is an “I can Read 1” level book, which means it has simple sentences which would make it a good one for beginning readers ( source). It also has the usual fun illustrations you’ve come to expect from the series, so even my toddler enjoys it.
