The description promises that the book will teach readers how to “ Establish a balanced life for an everyday sense of wellbeing, let go of unwanted worries and fears, become better at accepting yourself and others, and work through a crisis without letting emotions take over. While most people can feel overstimulated every once in a while, for some individuals, it’s a way of life. These steps are by no means exhaustive or required to accept reality, but they can be helpful in the moment.I recently did a DBT intensive outpatient program (IOP), but I actually started in a CBT group so I didn't do the entire course of the DBT program. It is not about suppressing our emotions, but accepting the emotion and using it to take a different action. To teach CBT and DBT skills to support people with mental illnesses, you need to become a licensed therapist or psychologist. There are courses and online DBT training for both individuals interested in practicing DBT and for therapists and other mental health professionals who wish to apply DBT in their work.

They do say a higher power doesn't have to be a god and they suggest on page 45 that you can have a higher power that is someone who can make you feel stronger and more confident, however, I do not think making a human a higher power is a good choice.

RO-DBT provides a compassionate way for clinicians to view this type of resistant client as well as to work on some areas that are likely to benefit them as well. This workbook is a great tool to help our children process emotions and all that comes with it healthily.
