She was incredibly well known and a gated area underneath a bridge at the station was then transformed with hundreds of bouquets, balloons and photographs in tribute to her. This is going to polarise, though readers who come to this with no real love for or knowledge of Austen will probably have no problem with the liberties taken. The plaque gives a brief account of the ships history, while the weathervane depicts her in silhouette. I'm definitely a devotee - Pride and Prejudice is my favourite book, I've read it many times, seen multiple adaptations, read many books on the author, visited her home, identified with her heroine and even written essays about the source novel. And I smiled and laughed at the subtle humor Jane Austen used in portraying Mary's opinions, her unattractiveness, and sullen behavior in social situations in comparison with her other four sisters.

Earlier this summer I felt myself very giddy after reading about Kitty Bennett in What Kitty did Next and I couldn't wait to hear about middle sister, Mary. Mary regularly represents various financial sponsors in connection with debt financings for their private equity, real estate, energy, infrastructure, debt and other investment funds. I've also read other works inspired by Austen's masterpiece of manners, for both teens and adults, and tried to keep an open mind.To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. The thing about Austen's Mary, though, is that she is not clever or witty, and the humor in her character comes from the fact that she recites her lessons in morality without the ability to think deeply about them.

It reminds me of stories where D is portrayed with more accuracy in regards to his treatment of women, servants, etc. It’s very difficult to read a book when you dislike the main character and almost every other character for that matter. You want to imagine what it must have been like for a middle daughter to watch happiness appear to pass her by in favor of her more reputedly beautiful sisters?
