Can they not be polite to people in general - especially people who help - like the high-school artist for example who Logan sent on his way without so much as a thank you. Applicability of cancellation rights: Legal rights of cancellation under the Distance Selling Regulations available for UK or EU consumers do not apply to certain products and services. By contrast, this book features two strong female members of Logan's team, and he makes his respect for them clear. there were many moments the reader is given a glimpse of the humor, wit and charm lying below the surface. DCI Logan, our hero, is definitely haunted by ghosts from the past, but in A Litter of Bones some of them are put to rest.

I've read books where the main character is a "bad boy" detective and likes to do things his own way, the whole nine yards. While it’s not the most remote part of the country, it’s still a long way from bright city lights, and DCI Logan is frequently wrong-footed by the different ways of life and the interactions of the locals. Yes, the mystery was interesting enough, and development and disclosure were well constructed, but I just felt the detective was such an obnoxious character that I really couldn’t enjoy it.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. I didn't guess many of the twists and turns, and I felt like they were revealed in interesting ways. I finished A Litter Of Bones in a day, and immediately afterwards bought the second - Thicker Than Water.Connor going missing has all the hallmarks of the 'Petrie' case which has haunted DCI Logan for a long time.

Back to this story, if you love crime procedural books, or books along the lines of the TV Series The Commander or Wired in the Blood, this would be a great story to pick up.

I picked this up for a few reasons, but mainly because authors Alex Smith and JE Mayhew have both recommended the author and series. Now, he spends his days working in Glasgow's Major Incident Team, and his nights reliving the horrors of what he saw.

If a refund or reimbursement is payable to you, we will transfer the money using the same method originally used by you to pay for your purchase. The descriptions of the landscape, the weather, and the small-town atmosphere serve to create a sense of place that is both eerie and familiar. The blurb mentions that he has a broken marriage and a drinking problem, bit neither of these things are mentioned in the book and if they are, they weren't given the proper focus, because for the life of me I don't remember them. We mainly use Royal Mail Tracked 48 Service for goods which weight less then 2kg, all other goods will be delivered by a Courier. He doesn't appear to have a drinking problem at all - there are no nights mentioned as having been spent in a bar. This is not intended to be a full statement of all your rights under the Distance Selling Regulations.
