The chapters, I thought were very well placed, providing intelligent punctuation of the different events and helping the reader move between different viewpoints and other factors with contributed to the narrative.

Interesting book with more obscure lesser known information, prefer to think of it as an alternative rather than independent view. Considering that the Group have now released their first Album in 40 years, there is no better time in revisiting the incredible journey ( or voyage excuse the pun) that this group has graced the whole world with. Reading about all the harassment they had to endure at every step, it's miracle they actually created any music at all - author cleverly explains prejudice music circles always have about commercially successful acts and how every victory (be it Eurovision or chart-topping album) was quickly turned against Abba to the point that their music was not played in their own country for the unspeakable sin of being successful. A history of the Swedish Folk Parks, where the Hep Stars, Hootenanny Singers and ABBA have performed. The story of ABBA is not one of drug-fueled excess and inter-band drama, so the increased focus on the songwriting made for a very interesting read, and Palm does not lend much creedence to the many unsubstantiated rumours which otherwise mire writings on ABBA.

This new edition of the best-selling Abba book has been substantially updated and revised to include details Mamma Mia's extraordinary success and the ongoing lives of Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Agnetha Föltskog, their music and their personal lives. They truly conquered the world, recording, touring, performing and entertaining huge crowds everywhere they went, but after less than a decade, the dream was fading and they went their separate ways, seemingly never to record together again.

I am not sure how I feel now about the re-union this year, formerly a joyous occasion for me that prompted my renewed interest in the band. Pricing is based on the location of the seats, but in our purpose-built arena every seat is a good one.Drawing on exclusive interviews with the group, their collaborators and their manager and mentor Stig Anderson, I have reconstructed the complete history of ABBA’s glittering career. These break-ups provided inspiration for some of their most famous songs, though it must have been difficult to sing the words of Knowing Me Knowing You and The Winner Takes It All while their marriages were falling apart. However, four years since it was announced, I do plan to publish later this year - no specific date to share yet - and I am also pleased to report that I'm beginning to see the end of the project.

I wish that the book had gone into more detail about how they were able to achieve their signature sound - at points the story gets bogged down in explaining how certain singles sell a ton of copies in Belgium, but fewer than the last single in Austria, but a bit more than usual in West Germany, etc. Samuti kuulus ta rahvusvahelisse žüriisse, mis annab välja auhinda Eurostory Best Lyrics Award kõige rabavamate laulusõnade eest Eurovisiooni lauluvõistlusel. While I am not sure I would read another one, this one left me feeling informed, educated, interested and engaged throughout and I am very glad I read it. From their humble beginnings in post-war Sweden to global superstardom, ABBA at 50 charts the remarkable story of this Swedish quartet. No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins. The Little Guide to ABBA celebrates everything the super Scandinavian pop group represents: brilliant pop music, 70s style, influence on hundreds of subsequent acts and an enduring legacy. Now, ABBA: The Book presents the incredible story of four Swedish folk singers who went on to become one of the most influential pop groups of all time. Given that I can't much exceed a page count of 448 pages - this would make the book too heavy and, with packing, push it over the 2 kilos line, making it much more expensive to mail - I believe this is the best solution for me as the author/publisher and you as the reader. Tema esimesele raamatule „Letʼs Talk About ABBA“ järgnes „We All Love ABBA“, seejärel kaheosaline „The Legacy of ABBA“. See images from the pre-ABBA years, the formation of the band, ABBA's incredible rise to success with their break-through at the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest in Brighton and the rocket ride to global super-stardom that followed.
