In this moment, you are surrounded by the beauty and power of nature, and the fresh and invigorating scent of Acqua di Giò Profumo perfectly complements the stunning scenery around you. Sillage is above average as far as performance, and while I don't feel the projection is amazing, I have heard mixed comments. I have had most success in the office areas as far as compliments, but it is not the compliment monster that many hold it up to be. Many other people have described the scent better than me, but to my nose this is a beautiful combination of sharp, clean incense, soft, leafy patchouli, salt, and aromatics, exactly as the pyramid implies.

Like so many people I grew up during the era when the original Acqua Di Gio was the uncontested KING, it was like a best friend and it carried me through the entirety of my 20's without fail.

I've had a designer phase, niche phase, vintage phase; I've gone from hating incense, green notes, and leather to loving them. I do think the incense was a bit too much and it did not do well with the sweet notes that comes in the dry down. The fantastic thing about this is that in case a odor performs badly concerning longevity, you could always spray a few more! I also loved the original back in the day when it was first released, but as the years went by I felt it had a sour, harsh metallic basenote that I couldn't stand anymore. It smells sort of generic and plain to me, but I'm guessing from the comments of more seasoned noses that it's actually not - maybe I'm just getting stuck on that aquatic accord I smell (something similar to) so often.

I happened to still have some of my sample of the regular Profumo blend, and decided to put my nose to the test. The new Acqua di Gio Profumo Special Blend is more textured, unveiling a spiciness mixed with salty minerality. The incense and aquatic notes are classy, and simultaneously the patchouli has this "natural" wet green feel. To me, it has more of a slight spice note and more of a sandalwood back end but it mellows out into a nice light yet warm aqua scent.

It seems to be the best balance of Profumo and some of the more youthful releases like Profundo or Absolu. Sadly, as everybody knows it has been discontinued, which is why I decided to snag up my current bottle.

Authentic and natural, it is a fragrance for men inspired by the fresh sea, warm sun and the richness of the earth.Seeing how everyone’s nose is different I won’t argue with people who say this smells just like Profumo. The patchouli in the Special Blend has a unique origin: it was selected and harvested in Guatemala, as part of an ethical sourcing program established by the Firmenich fragrance house. Please stop leaving comments on here saying "it's the same exact fragrance just with a different bottle, it's just a cash grab, it smells 99. I get great performance and ladies like it too but to be honest it is good but no that great as hyped by the community. There was a licorice note that I didn't pick out the first time but, for some reason, this spray smelled like straight Jägermeister.
