I will now attempt to repair it, as per very clearly stated in description it was sold as requiring repair! The device is equipped with a rechargeable battery, allowing for extended usage without the need for constant replacement of batteries. I read a review that it doesn't translate overseas - well they are using it in the Paris suburbs and they have had no problems yet so it must be to do with the radio signals each country uses.

They haven't actually run out of battery despite a few hours of being off the charger, so I would say that they keep enough charge for the time they're required by my 2 daughters. One thing it doesn't seem to mention in the manual - is it OK to leave them on the charger permanently? He already does have a walkie talkie but is more for play use and he hardly uses them because of the constant crackle when the units aren't in use. Binatone's multi-functional Latitude 150 is a two way radio twin with up to 3km range, 8 channel combinations and up to 2 hours talk time.

This set is very user friendly, has a wide-range and no interference which I was particularly pleasantly surprised about. I have given these walkie talkies 4 stars because my daughter is yet to try them outside of the house and with much of a distance between hand sets. b>Latitude 150\n\nThese Latitude 150 Two-Way Radios provide free communication and are ideal for outdoor activities . The amperage output of the adapter is not forced and as such this adapter is safe to use on devices that require less amperage. I think the kids would need to be 4+ as they need to understand that they have to hold the button down whilst they talk.

I would say though that you have to make sure that 'TX' displays when the PTT button on the side is pressed down - I spent a few minutes trying to figure out why they appeared not to be transmitting). While they will operate, doing this will cause accelerated deterioration of the batteries and will lead to them having a reduced battery life and eventually, an inability to hold a charge. You may have to change channels a few times to avoid picking up local mini-cabs but there are 10 channels so not a problem. I was loathed to get them mobile phones at such a young age, so this is a great way of keeping in touch when they are playing out near our house, I can keep one of the walkie talkies and they take the other and it gives me extra peace of mind. They keep switching channels involuntarily so I need to reset them to the same channel so they talk to eachother. I encountered a fairly 'un-desireable' character a few years ago who thought it funny to broadcast obscenities to other radio users (by selecting the same channel in use), however the correct setting of CTCSS will reduce chance of you hearing stuff you might not necessarily want to hear while on site. BK wrote:Short range is OK, he only wanted them for using around the garden, which looking on google maps is about 350m long.

Overall, the Binatone Latitude 150 radio is an efficient communication tool that offers users the ability to connect over 8 channels. Excellent and immensely helpful seller, will save as a favourite regardless of outcome of repair attempt.

Additionally, it features a battery low indication system, alerting users when the battery level is running low, ensuring uninterrupted communication.
