I was super stoked when I saw Sylvain Reynard was coming out with the next installment, Gabriel's Promise.

I could hardly get though the book but kept going because the love I have for these two characters and the previous books, but this one was just different.

There was a heavy focus on the academics and theories involving Dante and Beatrice, a bit much at times, as I found myself a tad distracted from this couple's love story. Don’t get me wrong, the joy of meeting Gabriel again was enormous and I really hope Sylvain will continue the series, even with glimpse and pieces, I’ll take anything. Though this book wasn't a favorite for me, this series still holds a special place in my heart and I think some fans of this series may love it, it just didn't quite work for me.The ups and downs that constantly surround them, are not helping them to have an easy life, the mystery of things that keep happening is Bringing back old fears from their past that is coming back to hunt them. I am hoping that the author is planning on writing the fifth book simply to give the characters a proper ending. I felt like I had to constantly skip over long speeches of someone quoting Dante for minutes on end. Passionflix understands that readers would like to see “Gabriel’s Promise” on film and I would like to see that happen, as well.

I loved reading about Gabriel and his quest to take care of both Clare and Julia to the best of his ability. The biggest change since we last heard from the couple is the birth of their daughter, Clare Grace Hope Emerson. I did something with this fourth book in the Gabriel's Inferno series that I haven't done in quite some time. As both Gabriel and Julianne provide their own interpretations of pieces from these ancient texts, I am once again amazed at the intellect of Sylvain Reynard to craft these understandings and I have come to the conclusion that somewhere out there, in an alternate universe, Sylvain Reynard IS Gabriel Emerson! All the mystery and intrigue involving past enemies and possibly new ones was a bunch of unnecessary drama.We get to know Clare, their newborn daughter and watch as their relationship changes from new married to new parents.
