Description

This all was a perfect introduction to this world, teaching Harley and us at the same time everything we need to know. Wade is a brilliant warlock with no social skills who is drawn to Harley from the beginning but equally repelled by her empath abilities.

Audible wants to give you the most complete selection we can and we'll keep adding series and filling in gaps as quickly as possible. So I can see why it’s been likened to the adult Harry Potter, but honestly until reviews were read, I didn’t even think about HP. Able to read other peoples emotions, she is invaluable at her job in the casino where she's employed catching card sharks, and she's very good at her job which is in the human world. This book is incredible in its own right, and once you get past the slight similaries at the start, and they are only slight similarities; you get to the thumping heart of the book and when you reach that point, you will be totally hooked on it and won't want to stop reading for anything. It kept my attention to the end, I didn't realise who the culprit was for all the mischief going on in both worlds right up until they were revealed, which was great!

But overall it was quite predictable and the writing was not great (“my heart fluttered like an obese butterfly” was probably my favourite, though I don’t think it was intended to be funny. And if you’re looking for easy to consume fantasy with some fun and interesting bits and are not too concerned with how it is written and originality, then this is definitely a good book to read. To answer a question as vital as the number of coffee cups consumed while reading, there are exactly 20 books in the Harley Merlin series.

Add in a diabolical plot concerning blood thirsty gargoyles and you are guaranteed one hell of a ride. The series might take you on a rollercoaster of emotions or provide a steady companion on lazy Sunday afternoons. I'd like to know more about Gerald and Wade who go head to head frequently over every little thing; they are so funny. Here, you'll discover not just the publication year, which is essential for understanding the context and evolution of the series, but also a succinct summary that teases the story without spoiling any surprises. As she begins to learn who she is, she uncovers a terrible hidden past about herself and her family.

He is absolutely fascinating and I hope the rest of the series has a lot more focus on him, I just adore him. It took my a while to start reading the fever series, the description of them just didn’t sound like something I would be into. When a rogue 19-year-old witch is recruited to help guard an ancient magical Bestiary, mystery and danger ensue. The book reads much more like a young adult novel aimed at teenage girls (lots of good looking muscular young men falling in love with the heroine and she can't understand why yadda-yadda).I want to know more about Harley's relationship with the venomous snake-like beast locked up in the Beastiery. But after a disturbing twist of events, Harley quickly realizes that her past is darker than she could ever have imagined. The description and detail in the book is amazing, I can picture every scene in my imagination perfectly!

However the book does have some positive elements (hence the three star rating); it is well written, there are a few well crafted action sequences and the story had a couple of original ideas around how magic might be used in a magical society. She discovers that there is another world; a magical world which exists parallel to the human one, and there is much to learn and like about it. It's the perfect spot for readers to get a glimpse of what lies within the pages, helping them decide which book to dive into next.Sometimes a book goes temporarily out of print - and sometimes no audio version has ever been recorded. Additionally, we occasionally include insights into the writing process, thematic elements, or how each book fits into the larger tapestry of the series. Each book represents a chapter in the broader narrative, introducing new twists, turns, and perhaps the occasional talking dragon (disclaimer: dragons depend on the genre). With the help of Wade and her new friends, she must figure out who the traitor is and why they're targeting her. She has been passed through quite a number of foster homes and has had some very bad experiences in all but the last one; The last foster home was with the Smith family.
