OLED pixels create an astonishingly accurate and wide colour range, which is presented on the perfect black background only available from self emitting pixels. LG Electronics UK designs products that are intuitive, responsive and more eco-friendly, so you can spend wisely, be more productive and reduce the impact on the world around you.With so much of its picture processing turned off, the C8 presumably performs just like its predecessor, right? It’s not really the super-slimness of the panel itself, either, as we’re already quite accustomed to that.
As with last year’s models, the C8 also allows you to experience dynamic metadata thanks to its Dolby Vision support, and in most cases this results in even greater contrast and stronger colours.
As an example, the object-based contrast enhancement and adaptive colour features are both only activated when you select the Vivid mode but, having spent a lot of time using and tweaking this preset, I’ve had to conclude that it’s rather rubbish. That means it delivers a more subdued picture than the likes of the Samsung Q9FN or Sony XF9005, but the C8 again impresses with how natural and subtle its colours are, and with the depth and solidity of its blacks.
UHD has twice the horizontal and vertical resolution of the 1080p Full HD format, with 4 times the pixels overall. All of which means that if you want the best picture LG has to offer in the most affordable package possible, this TV is it. For example, when a smaller area/APL of the display is used for showing a bright object, when a bright object is displayed for a short time, etc. The random-access memory (RAM) is used by the operating system and the software applications installed. To the Standard mode we suggest only very slight adjustments to the Contrast and Brightness, a Colour Temperature setting more towards the middle, and that the Super Resolution and noise reduction options be switched off.

The C8 is an exciting performer, but you have to turn off many of its super-advanced features to get it performing at its best. Any level of processing seems to add an element of unrealism or artefacting, so as far as we’re concerned TruMotion is best switched off entirely, even though that results in a bit of judder and blur.
