For enthusiasts of enigmatic fragrances and aquatic fougères, this gem deserves a place in your collection. The grapefruit and lavender gleam and sparkle out of the atomizer in an over the top fashion, however it doesn't come across as dihydromyrcenolic to my nose, although there is no doubt this compound is present in the formula in atleast some amount. To me it's not an aquatic per se but more a 'fresh aromatic fougere' which can be used all year around actually but does best during warmer summer days as it's very refreshing! It's a bit metallic, but not as much as a lot of sweet aquatics or herbals/aromatics on the men's market.

It does have similarities to Polo Sport, but to me Aqua Quorum is more mature and masculine than PS. This refreshing summer scent consists of aromatic lavender and freesia, followed by dynamic grapefruit and geranium. While I'm not on board with Cool Water comparisons, I see some resemblance between Aqua Quorum and Polo Sport, and feel that running out of one is adequately offset by having the other on hand.The base of amber, leather and oakmoss do give a very masculine and spicy edge to this very fresh fragrance like the drydown of Cool Water has as well. One of my workhorse scents, along with Eternity Aqua, Eternity Summer circa 2012, and TB Very Cool, when the heat is on. A good “Arms Round Each Other” skin scent if not a cuddle one because leather just don’t lend itself to that, at least not off me.

After the minute-long opening (harsh and synthetic but not unbearable) fades Aqua Quorum settles into Bleu de Chanel EdT with the grapefruit turned up and pine replacing sandalwood in the base. Q. has a light sprinkling of pine needles and precious woods, with the greener notes sparkling through the breezy top accord of lavender, grapefruit, and freesia, and the "blond woods" in the base yielding a transparent cedar note, presaging Quorum Silver, to come eleven years after. It lasts about four to six hours on my skin, but for the last few hours it is very much a skin scent. As it dried down it goes to a weirdly dark place for a warm weather frag because of the oakmoss an’ leather, which gives it a bit more of a hairy-chestedness than a lot of the stuff it’d be shelved next to. It might not smell like a typical freshie but you pretty much are gettin’ standard freshie performance from it. Aqua Quorum gets its freshness from the lavender, geranium and herbal notes, not from chemicals, and I like that. Cheap enough that you can walk past Polo Sport/Coolwater for AQ instead, and not regret the purchase.
