Connections between quantity adjuster OB3 (N146) and VW engine control unit (N1:99, N1:106, N1:108, N1:116, N1:121) shorted or faulty. Which is very close to what MB were as king with labour all in so could be tempted to go with MB direct.

Just been out for 29 mile drive on a reasonably fast A road (no d/cways anywhere near here) mostly with the gearbox held in 5th and at 2,500rpm, hopefully flushed out the DPF and fan wasn’t on when I stopped, with either engine on or shut down. My Vectra Estate did a regen today and was not interupted during it's cycle, but now my glow plug light has started flashing about 20km after the regen. Alternatively they would arrange for the replacement car to be delivered to your house and your car to be delivered to your house after repair and the loan car taken away. I went in to the service department to ask them about it but of course they wanted to book in for a diagnostic (which I did). The light flash/ticking sound begin only when I plug in the white plug and the green light on the white plug and the white box on the wall start to flash about 5 times before stopping. You need pathfinder and the correct lead for either the LPG or Diesel engine otherwise you won't be able to access the engine codes if you've just got the standard pathfinder cable. It is my impression that EGR faultsnecessitating fullreplacement of the unit (not an easy job, see the EGR threads)are increasingly common among EA189 engines of a certain age and maturity. There is no need to be so rude and abrupt in your reply, I'm sorry but i am quite new to the site and im not up to speed on the ways of the board. exept one that was stuck but it was working and the light still flashes the mecanic said it is the relay that can also cause this light to go on.

Its really important that during a regen you get the revs up and get the engine load up (the ideal thing for dpf regen would be a hill climb for example). OP - First off check the Ground point on the drivers side strut tower, then take a good look round the loom for chafe points, with the engine running and the light off, get some one to watch it and give the loom and the plugs the "wiggle test" - which should be self explanatory, hopefully some part of it will cause the failure. It seems, reading other posts on this subject, that it only takes a slight resistance to the actuator by sticky vanes to cause it to go into limp. On bottom of fuel filter there is a drain plug loosen this very carefully so that it drains out i used a carrier bag to catch it so its not messy . Now got my brim back, back to its amazingness, it was a boost sensor that was faulty, the first garage I took it to admitted to resetting the ECU and not replacing the sensor first time round.

I knew what it was straight away drove round the corner popped the bonnet and primed the fuel bulb job done ecu cleared light later that day. Im using the app so cant see ur model, my had 73k on clock, u could just change the faulty one but in my opinion the rest could be on thier last legs too? I don't want them to take piss and try an tell me it's nothing to avoid having to fix it, I know exactly how to get the light back on if it goes off though, does anyone have any idea on what it could be?This will take you to the hundreds of threads that have previously been asked about this common problem. Correct functionality of the DPF relies heavily on post injection of fuel and the precat to use that post injected fuel to generate the heat.
