About this deal

Fit wise, the heel locked in and has been comfortable on all runs, regardless of intensity, terrain or duration. Durability: A Dual-C combination of medium sticky and hard sticky rubbers ensure the studs stay strong over time and continue to deliver. On the foot the heel feels a little snugger and the shoe is even more flexible , to manipulate around varied terrain. We are experiencing a high volume of traffic at the moment, please bear with us whilst we load your page.

META-SHANK™ (Generation I) - 3-finger polymer Meta-Shank™ aligns behind the metatarsals for greater forefoot flexibility and control when contouring, whilst retaining underfoot impact protection. It’s not a light mesh equivalent of the Trail Talon 275, but in winter the added substance works well. Imagine binning old saggy shoes with worn down studs for new tight fitting beauties with aggressive, defined studs – oh bliss, they stick to the ground. A light and comfortable shoe, dries quickly after getting wet and will get you out of trouble when you most need it!For years, inov-8 has provided the ‘go-to’ shoes for running when the ground gets wet, slippery, muddy, gnarly and so on! Self cleaning comes through intelligent lug design (oh yes it exists – look at the variety of mountain bike tyre treads and applications) as well as the compound. Their aggression is matched by their support, they really were able to perform throughout a big day out. These firmly griped the rocks and provided a lot comfort to not only the foot but the toes and the ankles. Having seen them about, I waited until my current 333's were on their last legs before going to Pete Blands to try a pair on, and get them on my feet.

The grip on muddy hills inspires a lot of confidence, in a situation where my Salomon trail shoes would start suffering a lot of wheelspin. Increased protection: The rand that wraps around the shoe's upper and toe bumper ensure outstanding protection against stones and other debris. If you have the previous version of the ‘300’ in yellow and black, don’t be fooled into thinking this is the same shoe. If you’re regular running is road, you’re going to notice a different feel when you don some fell shoes. As with climbing shoes, the grippy rubber is always the bit you want, and the bit you pay for, but the problem is the grippier rubber always wears out the fastest. After running around Bleaklow one winter in Roclites, I went over to the Mudclaws simply for the grip in such muddy and slippy conditions. Beat the mud: The multi directional stud pattern ensures mud is released quickly from the outsole, so the studs are always able to deliver maximum grip with every step. There is no affiliation to any manufacturer and I gain no advantage from saying something is particularly good.

Despite subjecting the mudclaw to ankle deep mud, snow, ice and slush, they self cleaned regardless, to the point outside of sliding now and again, you wouldn’t know there was challenging terrain beneath your feet. There is no question of whether they will find traction, leaving you confident on technical descents, you will remain in control. I was in x-talons, so I couldn't comment on that), and on the odd occasion that I've been running over the hills and traversing, I can say that I sometimes feel that.Perfect for running in the fells and mountains when the terrain is Muddy and the ultimate in grip is needed. The stud placement is well thought out, through years of off-road experience, meaning mud should clear quickly and not stick in large quantities. If you are unsure whether the item you are purchasing is classed as PPE please contact KONG Running.

If you’re looking for a plush deep midsole, look elsewhere, but remember, if that’s your criteria, are you really looking for an off trail shoe. I spent the day running around in them, capturing the race and then put them away, as the majority of my year was taken up riding off road instead. If you put mudclaw 300 on a scale and compare it with mudclaw 265 you will notice no difference in weith.Given the terrain the Mudclaw eats with ease, you receive a level of cushion from the ground beneath your feet.
