Grados fit that bill and I’ve had a Grado Prestige Silver installed on the Thorens for years, only replacing the stylus. The reviews of the nagaoka I read said you need to spend twice the cost of a mp110 to get anything better but the audiotechnica is only ten bucks more than I paid for the nag ?

The replacement, the Ame's unit, also from Harbor Freight has been fantastic and can handle spikes well as it's been zapped a time or two when diagnosing my dryer on at least 120V and yet, still works great. I bought the nagaoka unsure of weather I would put it on my Dual 1214 which is sort of my main unit at the moment, or mount it on the technics. The MP110 boasts precise groove tracking, which is critical in maintaining the integrity of your vinyl. There hasn’t been a noticeable drop in sound quality but I fear it could develop into a problem soon in the future.

The quality and shape of the stylus and the tolerances in the manufacturing process are of the utmost importance to ensure that the translation of the information in the grooves is perfect and no information is lost or added in the process. There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data. The accuracy of the MP stylus keeps all the details of the music separate so each detail can be heard clearly.

Also does your receiver have a high cut filter for the LP to eliminate some of the noise from records? It sounds so good since I got it properly set up and broken in that I'm reluctant to swap it out but the shure m25c that's currently on the technics is not gonna cut it for me, even though at this point the technics is my backup. In the end I got rid of the 1042, mainly because the 95ML was more neutral, tracked better, and traced tough inner grooves better.

Imaging specificity was very good with proper side to side and great height clues in recordings that had that information . In any case, in all my objective and subjective tests, the 95ML either matched or won out entirely against the Goldring 1042. The MP110 has the really nicely balanced tone that makes the whole Nagaoka range up to the MP500 prized by many.

But its simple bonded elliptical stylus doesn’t give as much fine detail or the same guarantees of no inner groove distortion (igd) as the VM95ml. its doing maybe 90% of what im getting out of the sl-1300mk2 w/shure v15vmr and sl-1700mk2 with at33ptg2 without worrying about fragile cantilevers and no longer available stylus assemblies. I am privileged to be the owner of a Technics SL-1200MK2 that I bought used from the original owner. And the notion that this can't be true as a result of the AT having a microline stylus is fundamental misunderstanding of the complexities involved in sonic reproduction from groove walls. It faithfully recreates the depth and breadth of the original recording, ensuring a warm, full sound that’s as close to the artist’s intentions as possible. They arrive remarkably speedily from Japan, it is weird how fast they show, they seem genuine, not damaged as they come in plastic cases in Bubble wrap. I had a Shure VR and now a delicious Empire EDR 9, and while the Nagaoka lacks a bit of top end refinement, it holds its own nicely.
