Description

The set designers needed to create the Animus character, a disembodied alien underground presence, and of course the massive planet Vortis, with the painted night sky filled with stars and moons. Behind the Sofa: new episodes with companions Maureen O’Brien, Peter Purves, Carole Ann Ford, Janet Fielding (Tegan), Wendy Padbury (Zoe), Sarah Sutton (Nyssa), Bonnie Langford (Mel) and Sophie Aldred (Ace). There is a wonderful and highly skilled team of people involved in bringing these discs to our shelves and our thanks have to go to all involved. A well done story with a couple interesting side notes such as a young Jeremy Bulloch a decade before his turn as an archer in The Time Warrior and as Boba Fett in Star Wars.

Nerdgazm strives to serve the interests of entertainment and pop culture enthusiasts with top-quality information on the leading franchises. In some cases, visual effects have been improved - improved exterior shots of the Pharos Project were used to replace models in some instances, including brand-new location shots filmed using drones. THE CRUSADE (another pure historical) is set during 12th Century Palestine at the time of King Richard the Lionheart's attempt to capture the Holy Land. This nine-disc box set also includes hours of special features previously released on DVD including Documentaries, Featurettes, Audio Commentaries, Overseas Soundtracks and more.

As with the UK releases, disc replacements were made available for seasons 12 and 18, and reissues included the replacement discs. Each set was numbered based on the actor playing the Doctor - for example, season 12 was released in the US as "Doctor Who: Tom Baker Complete Season One". Maybe they’re also watching how sales are for this one, monitoring feedback on exactly how much the incomplete aspect hurts them. For Season 10, Jon Pertwee's face was reversed on the US cover - when the set was initially announced in the UK and the cover art revealed, someone on Twitter asked cover artist Lee Binding if he'd noticed Pertwee's face was reversed.

There was far more hysterical screaming than there needed to be, especially for such an allegedly advanced and sophisticated teenager. Of course these nine discs are stacked with audio commentaries, previously released documentaries, PDF ar It featured shortened cuts of selected bonus material from previous boxsets, as well as an exclusive bonus feature, "Doctor Who: Messages From Space". Seasons 12, 19 and 18 were originally released with card slipcases, however no slipcase was included with the release of season 10 onward, and reissues of seasons 12, 19 and 18 also did not include slipcases. On 31st October 1964 DOCTOR WHO began transmitting its 2nd series, and during 38 weekly episodes (comprising 9 serials) which came to an end on 24th July 1965 it would attain a level of popularity and ratings that the show would not see again until around the first three years of Tom Baker's tenure in the mid 1970's. Doctor Who The Collection: Season 2 is the first season of the William Hartnell era to release as part of The Collection range. The fold-over flaps inside – which set the TARDIS in its spot under the bridge from The Dalek Invasion of Earth – are a lovely touch. Though upconverted from standard definition source video, the picture appears very sharp and clear - even when compared to "The Next Doctor" special which was also upconverted. We think this will be quite a nice piece, even for those who have seen Maureen at one of her convention appearances.

Originally transmitted from December 1963 to February 1964, The Daleks introduced one of the Doctor’s most formidable and enduring foes. Still, the last few minutes are lovely and we have the debut of the excellent Peter Purves as stranded space pilot, Steven Taylor.

Coming Soon: The Rescue/The Romans - A trailer for the next two stories, previously available on Full Circle, State of Decay and Warrior's Gate. I’m glad that Dennis Spooner would step in and do most of the heavy lifting the next time the Daleks showed up.
