About this deal

If you are looking for solutions, or a magic bullet, it’s not really going to satiate that need… but at the same time you know what you should do (stand up for yourself and other women - keep pushing for improvements - and encourage people to seek help and come forward). In reality, every democracy, however sophisticated or stable it may look, has been attacked or actually destroyed by a would-be Caesar, from Ancient Greece to the present day. so… i wanted to see what people were saying about this book and how well received it was by people, so i read some reviews and most are saying how important and impactful it was, however of course there was negatives as well and it really intrigued me. Blood and Oil is the explosive untold story of how Mohammed bin Salman and his entourage grabbed power in the Middle East and acquired a network of Western allies - including well-known US bankers, Hollywood figures, and politicians - all eager to help the charming and crafty crown prince. maybe you don’t know all the statistics but you are more than aware of all the systemic issues as they have happened to you and you have learned to live with them of course your not shocked!

Ik heb een lijstje gemaakt en ook al zal deze niet zo lang zijn als die van anderen, hij is te lang. She is also contributor at Women Under Siege, a New-York based organisation working to combat the use of sexual violence as a tool of war in conflict zones worldwide. However, I have no doubt there’ll be misogynist on day release from the cesspit of the manosphere ready to spew their vitriol. This was another great exploration of misogyny and every day sexism, it made me angry (but if it doesn't I am concerned for you!

Bates begins her book with a list of times where she knows she was assaulted or a target of blatant sexism. She encourages all women to make one, charting a life in sexism, from the playground to the street to the workplace. Nadie quiere leer de cifras de vi0lencia, misoginia y abus0s, pero yo sentí esa necesidad de aprender más.Disabled women are twice as likely to suffer domestic abuse, but just one in 10 spaces in refuges is accessible to those with physical disabilities. Grateful that she has written such important books for us to do with what we will, but then I'm also sad that she has had to. It's about the need to equal -up the opportunities and behaviours deeply ingrained in our culture, and other cultures, that do not consider women as being equal to men. Kali ini pilihanku jatuh kepada buku barunya Laura Bates yang berjudul Fix the System, Not the Women. Lo he sentido como un combustible en el alma porque según iba leyendo me iba enfadando, y/o activando (Como prefieras interpretarlo) He sentido frustración, enfado, ira, pena y empoderamiento con cada página que pasaba.

Ferdinand Mount opens up a fascinating exploration of how and why Caesars seize power and why they fall. Even if it makes you rage and scream and shout at all the inequalities women are subjected to repeatedly, it still instills a hope: that by making our voices heard, by never giving up in the face of adversities, we will prevail and receive, once and for all, access to equal rights. She begins with her own list, a list of events or situations in which she has been the victim of sexism, harassment or assault. But the most rousing sections of the book are on male violence and the burden on women to keep themselves safe. If you've ever wondered what would happen if limitless money met limitless power, wonder no longer, it's all here.I find this to be a powerful, thought-provoking opener, as I think some women, myself included may not realise that certain behaviour, is actually sexism, and we were the victims of that. Hundreds already exist, “ignored and unused” in reports and campaign materials of feminist and civil rights organisations. Through astonishing interviews with powerful insiders, Blood and Oil tells how MBS's cabal played the Saudi economy and capitalised on the omnipotence of feudal power while effectively stamping out dissent, before allegations of his extreme brutality and excess began to slip out. It's absolutely disgusting to not only NOT believe, but mock and contradict the people who are indeed affected on a systemic level and think you know better than them what they should be focusing on. I was sad, angry and elated to finally feel understood - it's a strange combination to feel and no matter how tough it was at times to keep reading the book I'm so glad I did.
