We believe BBT 2021 showcases the rich chocolate and sweet coconut notes of this massive style while also providing the needed roundness and integration of the bourbon and oak characteristics to produce a harmonious experience. For Rye Beer : Barrel : Time 2022 we finalized a blend which consisted of 2 different recipes, brewed 3 different times and then finished in 3 different barrels for 18 to 42 months. The blend is crafted to be consistent in a house style year after year and relies on a proportion of reserve wines to ensure this style is acheived each year by the master blenders. Many barrels were filled, very few were selected; now after over a year in bourbon barrels, followed by another year in apple brandy barrels, Double Barrel Assassin is finally ready. Decadently loaded with notes of chocolate brownie batter, waves of maple and espresso, and finishing with beautiful bourbon spice, we find it to be both fitting of what our original KBBS represented, while also exploring the outer limits of what a beer experience can be.
