I realized the evolving sets of monthly prompts could be templates to be shared and exchanged with others. I read about this book somewhere and thought the premise was great because the original idea that she took from a couple she encountered WAS great - what the author did with it however. Having some sort of self-preserving activity that isn’t working or looking at the news or scrolling on your phone, feels necessary to extract the differences between days.

I am not great at balance in many ways but I think I am good at maintaining a healthy enough distance from this specific project… I do not feel any pressure to make it something it is not. The Moon Lists by Leigh Patterson is a workbook filled with questions, list-making ideas, and prompts for taking inventory of the self; One step in a direction of exploring parts of the mind + present tense that are new, unknown, and full of possibility.The majority of pages are undamaged with some creasing or tearing, and pencil underlining of text, but this is minimal. I’m strict with my working schedule but not insane—I work best in the morning so I front-load my day with any tasks that require deep concentration. The questions help me put pencil to paper with thoughts I may have never written or paused to consider. This is one step in the direction of exploring parts of the mind present tense that are new, unknown, and full of possibility. It provides a place to note feelings of gratitude and moments of mindfulness while celebrating the turn of the seasons.
