I really liked the beginning of this novel, you get a quick snap shot of Cora’s life and then you’re thrown into the thick of it and Cora is murdering a man. sin kills all her groomers (elli's mom's second husband, lincoln, and sin's dad), but then decides to sacrifice himself because they got back elli's dad (who they thought committed suicide but turns out that sin's dad killed elli's dad's twin brother). The brutal crime appears to be without motive, and the elderly nuns in residence can offer little help in the police investigation. However, at least one of the story’s sub-plots follows on from “The Apprentice”, although there are recaps during these parts. I probably would have liked this even more if I didn't watch the show when it first came out because I already knew how it was going to end.

I forgot how much I loved it and then I read it again and I remembered why I gave it 5 stars the first time. Walking the dark line in this world means opening yourself to the devil and the devil has his eye on his own personal demon.for a change, but past that I don't think it needed nearly half of the book to show that she had a rough childhood and a traumatic experience to cause her to kill a man in cold blood. For instance, one of the purest expressions of egoism is Prince Valkovsky of The Insulted and Injured (“All is for me, and the whole world is created for me … And the more virtuous an act is, the more egoism there is in it. With a dying queen on the throne, war raging on the high seas and famine on the rise, England is on the brink of chaos.

Complice probabilmente anche capitoli lunghissimi in cui sto tizio, quello che indaga, non muove il fondoschiena fino verso l'8 o 9 o 10 capitolo. It's partially Grovian's investigation into Bender's childhood and family life, and partially his patient and careful questioning of her that slowly draws out the truth. Ovviamente la nostra protagonista verrà arrestata subito e passeremo i seguenti capitoli sul suo passato che alla lunga anche se ci svela particolari diventa noioso e ripetitivo. Is Cora mad or bad the book brilliantly explores this dilemma as the lead detective determinedly investigates what appears to be an open and shut case. Question about the end: Did Frankie's father insert heroin into Cora for 6 months against her will or did he just eff up her arms to make it LOOK like she was a heroin addict?

To do so, Dostoevsky took inspiration from the real life story of Pierre-François Lacenaire, a charismatic gentleman murderer whose trial had been the talk of Parisian society in the 1830s, fashioning the bones of his life into one of literature’s most compelling sinners: Raskolnikov, the protagonist of Crime and Punishment , a handsome, clever and often kind university student who nonetheless murders two defenceless old women with an axe.But it really dragged for me and I can’t count the times that I thought of putting the book down for good.
