What might have been a disaster is avoided as the four animals decide to build one strong house to accommodate them all, with the help of some beavers. Crazy as it seems, the knocking noises, poltergeist activity, objects flying through the air and hitting me have all occurred on a regular basis. For instance, the words ‘science’, ‘scientist’, and ‘evidence’ hold a certain amount of authority, and Fielding uses them freely to authenticate her characters’ ideas. The plot may sound a little familiar with true crime fans spotting a few similarities with a heinous crime that has recently had more publicity but be aware that the direction this fictional story takes isn’t as clear cut.

As the story progressed and all the characters were brought in and their stories were told I really started to enjoy it. The sale of customised goods or perishable goods, sealed audio or video recordings, or software, which has been opened. Evie Laurence was a successful actor for many years, now retired she wants to spent her final years in Heronbrook where she spent many a family summer holiday. Sadly, there were many parts of this book that I felt took itself too seriously and parts where claims were presented as facts. The mystery kept me interested, and although I picked up on things that made me suspect what was really going on, I still enjoyed the "reveal. She has kept her distance from her relatives and, as the years have passed, she is keenly aware of all the events that she has been absent from. With regards to the audiobook, which I listened to on Libby, both the narrator and the editing were poorly done. This novel, centred on a man upper-class family hosting holiday season at their hut/farm in the middle of a desolate Woods, where from page one it’s abundantly clear some serious mis-deeds will take place.
