This is my first James Patterson, so I'm not entirely sure about his writing style, but I guess the way he's written this book was as if it was the protagonist. The review said that "[a]fter 400+ pages, readers may wish they were a little farther into the plot and that more of their questions had been answered. I implore you, in the name of Kitty Pryde and Luna Lovegood, STOP COMPARING PIECES OF SHIT TO BETTER THINGS, THANKS. I feel like I can relate to him and how sad he must feel to have lost his eyesight to those white-coats.

I did have a couple problems with this though, as there was a lot to take in at once and it took me 11 (short) chapters to find out the main character Max is actually a girl. While reading this book, I experienced rushes and throbbing through my head at all the excitement, thrill, and suspense. James Patterson is the world’s bestselling author, best known for his many enduring fictional characters and series, including Alex Cross, the Women’s Murder Club, Michael Bennett, Maximum Ride, Middle School, I Funny, and Jacky Ha-Ha. Definitely worth the time, even if there's a few places where continuity and plausibility are challenged. It may seem like a dream come true to some, but their lives can morph into a living nightmare at any time.
