The low battery light would usually turn on after approximately 85 minutes; once that happened, I could still continue using the groomer for 10 more minutes before the battery was drained completely. The Norelco Bodygroom 5000 (BG5025/40) is fitted with a rechargeable Li-ion battery that can provide approximately one hour of cordless trimming. Trimming armpit hair with the Bodygroom 5000 is also a lot faster than with other types of body groomers. The foil head with the two edges that have rounded/beveled blades should be safe (I personally never had any issues).

I mainly liked the fact that it’s very lightweight compared to my previous clipper, so extremely easy to use. My final gripe with it is the very basic battery indicator which simply turns orange with the battery is almost dead, which can take you by surprise. With the Bodygroom 7000 (BG7030/49 and BG7040/42), the only part that will need to be changed once it wears out is the foil head.I’m happy to report that the 3 guards included with the Philips Bodygroom 5000 meet all these requirements and are very enjoyable to use. I haven’t opened it so I can’t say this with certainty, but my guess is that the battery size is larger than AA. This is a great design solution that allows the Bodygroomer to effectively and safely cut body hair of various lengths. You will need to get one with a conventional shearing blade like the Multigroom 7000 or the Lawn Mower 4.

The Philips Norelco BG7030 is one of the best body groomers I’ve used so far with regard to battery life. Philips says this gives you a closer shave with fewer passes and less pressure, minimising irritation and maximising results. If it still falls out easily, inspect the plastic sides of the head closely to see if there’s anything broken.The BG7030/49 (BG7040/42) is fitted with two shaving heads: a shaver for cutting the hairs at skin level and one adjustable trimmer for cutting the hairs at a specific length. Using short, controlled, overlapping strokes, this trimmer works in my experience better than any other groomers from the competition. That foil element along with the pair of blades with rounded teeth are great for cutting pubic hair close to the skin with minimal risks of nicks. A hypo-allergenic foil shaver and patented pearl tips prevent skin irritation, providing a reliably smooth body grooming experience.
