Description

Paintball guns can be fired from any distance. You should be careful that no paint splatter gets on the projectile sensors. The sunshades are extra wide for better reliability on sunny days and are constructed of a durable synthetic material. Stand one arrow length away for bows and crossbows. Shoot arrows over the projectile sensors evenly so the arrow passes the same height over both sensors. Blunt arrow tips work best. Position the unit 10 to 15 feet in front of the muzzle of a firearm or if using with a bow, at least one full arrow length in front Testing the same lot of ammo over and over, I got the same readings within my expected extreme spread.

By default, a chronograph’s main goal is to measure time. This is also true for shooting chronographs. If you want a more sure way of triggering it, you’ll need an external mic. And the only one that works is the one Labradar sells. How convenient.

Attributes

this is what people say about Labradar now..It misses too many shots... It wont connect Via Bluetooth half the time..It disconnects after 3 or 4 shots.. People near me conned ct to my Labradar and get my shot information. It quit working with my suppressor on.I had to buy an air gun trigger to get it to work with suppressor. It reads wrong with my muzzle brake. But the Bluetooth conectivity is by far the most common issue and it misses shots. It is also factory calibrated and is easy to operate for newbies. Due to its calibrated design, it has a dependable accuracy of +/-.25%. Furthermore, this chronograph also caters to different types of shooters’ needs. On sunny days place the chronograph in the shadow of a building or opaque wall. Ensure the sensors have a clear view of the sky, but the chronograph itself is in the shade. You could alternatively add sun shields to create a shadow. The goal is to eliminate direct sunlight on the chronograph, while still ensuring the sensors have a direct view of the sky. However, avoid placing the chronograph in the shade of a tree. The uneven sunlight that filters through the tree will cause more problems than it will solve. The high output LEDs consume battery power rapidly, use high quality Alkaline or Lithium batteries. Depending on battery type and environmental conditions a set of batteries will only provide optimal light output for approximately 2 hours. The downside of these is that they can be inconsistent depending on the weather. If you’re under 100% sun when you test one batch of ammo but 70% sun when you test a second batch, your results might not entirely match. Radar Chronographs

Airguns, arrows, firearms, paintball rifles – you name it! As an archery enthusiast, this chronograph is the one for me. Others work on a similar method, but a different form. Instead of light small electromagnetic sensors are set along a line. While the Labradar is considered to be the cream of the crop in chronographs, I really didn’t have a good experience with it. But if you reload, want to shoot precision long range, or shoot competitively — a chronograph can be critical. Precision long range is very velocity dependent. Having accurate data on your ammo is a must-have for proper DOPE. All of the ballistic calculators in the world won’t help if your velocity is off to start with. For me in the desert of California where it is as cloudless and bright as the dark side of the sun 99 times out of 100 that I go out — I never really had much of a problem. Once the app is installed you will see the Caldwell Ballistic Precision app icon in your smartphone home screen.

I mean really, it’s a fairly niche case that you need hard data on the exact speed of your bullets. Another concern is that you need to shoot through the chrono for it to work. The field is fairly large so it’s not really that hard, but accidents happen. Caldwell Chrono light cable things Skybox chronographs use a “skybox” to measure when the shadow of the projectile passes two points. It does some math and provides velocity information. This is the most common and cheapest type of chronograph since they are easy to make and the tech is pretty simple. Chronos like the Caldwell down below use Skyboxes. Product Reviews

The G2’s upside-down design allows shooters to place it either on a tabletop or with a tripod. Whenever I like to do my shooting test sitting down, I use my G2 instead. It is also compatible with a wide variety of weapons. Optional Light Kit Infrared (IR) LEDs provide the highest level of performance with the Chronograph sensors, IR light is not visible to the human eye so one visible red LED is included in each light strip for easy visual confirmation that the light kit is on and working. With the LabRadar, you get a string of data per shot, 5 user pre-set distances out to 99 yards. So you get much more information than just the muzzle velocity. Loading for multiple rifle and pistol calibers, the LabRadar allows me to get into the nitty gritty of fine tuning my reloads. If you are unable to connect your Android device to the chronometer follow these instructions:
With the audio cable disconnected at both ends…
1. Connect the audio cable to the Android device
2. Connect the audio cable to the Chronometer As a set of batteries loses power the red LEDs may still be partially visible even though the IR LEDs are not putting out an optimal level of light. If you notice errors or inconsistent readings, switch to 110 power or replace the batteries.
