Everyone was rounded up for the Welcome briefing in the centre of Hintze Hall under Hope the Whale. The Dino Snores team members introduced themselves, explained the rules for the sleepover and the activities that were planned for the evening. This exciting game of chance is a great way to get the whole family involved and would make the perfect gift for a young dinosaur fan! Dino Snores for Kids is for children aged 7-11. Guests must be aged 7 to 11 on the night of the sleepover.
The Museum reserves the right to make any necessary changes to the event as required, such as adjusting the locations, timings or content of the activities. This is to ensure that we deliver a safe and excellent experience for all guests at all times. The Natural History Museum does not recommend parking on Princes Gardens or Prince Consort Road due to recent criminal activity. All parking is at the vehicle-owners own risk. This is also a unique experience to book with a group of friends or family, to celebrate a birthday or other special event. The consumption of alcohol is strictly forbidden at Dino Snores for Kids. If our staff suspect you have been consuming alcohol, our Events Manager has the right to search your bags and test your liquids. If you are caught with alcohol your party will be removed from the event immediately. If you'd like to talk to a member of the team to learn more about whether the event would be suitable for you, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Shoes must be worn at all times in the Museum for health and safety reasons, apart from when you are sleeping. You will be taking part in the evening activities with other guests not booked onto VIP. You will be sleeping in a separate area of the Museum and will have your own exclusive morning activity.
Everyone must bring a sleeping bag, toothbrush, and some clothes to sleep in (we recommend arriving in clothes you can sleep in to minimise luggage). Overnight clothes must be suitable for standing outside in the unlikely event of an evacuation. The museum is home to life and earth science specimens within five main collections: botany, entomology, mineralogy, palaeontology and zoology. Must-see galleries and exhibits for families at the Natural History Museum include the Dinosaurs gallery, Hope – the 25 metre long blue whale skeleton – in Hintze Hall, the Fossil Marine Reptile gallery and the Earthquake simulator in the Red Zone. Animal Handling show (you will also have the opportunity to do the morning rise and find trail with the other guests once the show finishes.) The next activity for our group was the torch-lit trail through the Dinosaurs gallery. The group sat down for a talk by a paleontologist just outside the gallery, and then each child was given an activity sheet to find clues around the Dinosaurs gallery to discover the identity of a mystery dinosaur. Toilets are available for washing, teeth cleaning and changing however there are no showers available.Yes. Dino Snores for Kids encourages participation from children with disabilities and aims to be inclusive and welcoming for all children. We advise you to bring a bottle of water, a pillow, ear plugs and eye shades for sleeping as some lighting remains on overnight. You can also bring your own breakfast. Again, any food items brought to Dino Snores should be put in a sealed, labelled bag to be collected on arrival. There is no refrigerator available, so ensure that the food items won’t need overnight refrigeration. Make sure to collect your breakfast items in the morning before the breakfast break by asking a member of staff. So grab your sleeping bag and don your favourite PJs, because our sleepovers are not to be missed! Event dates The Museum exits are closed between 23.00 and 7.00 and it is not possible to leave between these times except in an emergency. We do not advise leaving early (as you will miss some of the fun), but if you wish to leave between 7.00 and 9.15 in the morning, please let us know when you book and we will do our best to accommodate you.
