Euro 6c is significant as cars certified as Euro 6c have been through a much tougher, more realistic lab test to determine fuel consumption and emissions compared to all cars that were certified before this. From September 2018, all manufacturers will be obliged to test in accordance with WLTP for vehicles sold in the EU as well as in Switzerland, Turkey, Norway, Liechtenstein, Israel and Ireland. The first iteration of the Euro emission limits we know today was very simple. The same limits applied to petrol and diesel cars, apart from the PM limit which only applied to diesel cars.
