Rotary compactors: a small footprint (1.5m x 1.5m) upright unit with a rotating drum which breaks up waste or recyclables on pushes is down into a heavy duty bag or 1100L wheelie bin with a compaction ratio of 9:1 (bag) or 6:1 (wheelie bin). This waste compactor machine has a unique scoop action ram which sits above where a standard compactor ram will be. This prevents the ram and other components from sitting in volumes of wet or liquid waste which on a standard machine would cause severe wear and tear. This type of machine is also called ‘self cleaning’ because as the scoop action ram moves it effectively cleans the immediate access area of the machine which otherwise would have a build up of foul smelling waste.

This Bin Compactor is recommended for businesses who put their waste into 1100L wheelie bins but find they overflow regularly but are not neccessarily full of waste. By compacting bagged general waste, you can fit more bags of waste into a 1100l bin andpresent a clean, more environmentally friendly working environment. This 660L Wheelie Bin Compactor is a money-saving solution for businesses who use 660 litre bins for their waste as it can compact the material inside by up to 3:1. This waste compactor will reduce the frequency thatbinsneed to be emptied by your waste collection company and can prevent the need to upgrade your bin size. There are also polystyrene compactors, which are specialist machines as polystyrene (EPS) does not compact like cardboard or general waste. Rollonoff Portable waste compactors typically requires more headroom and floor space (approximately 23 metres) for the collecting vehicle and compact between 9,000 – 12,000 kgs of general waste.

TT1100E Bin Compactor

There are many variables to consider in deciding on a waste compactor. This short guide should help you organize your thinking so you arrive at the right decision. Portable compactors: the compaction unit is attached to the container element permanently. The whole unit is taken away to be emptied. Some portable compactors can only deal with dry general waste or dry recyclables, others are specially designed for wet waste. In the unlikely event that your commercial waste compactor breaks down, we operate a standard 24 hour call out time to attend and carry out repairs. Our engineers are based around the UK in the South, Midlands and North providing regular compactor servicing to all our clients.

The first option is using a rollonoff vehicle and is used for the larger waste compactors, you may have seen this type of machine or a separate bin being ‘rolled on and off’ the floor on collection or delivery when connected to a static compactor. Save money on waste disposal: Waste compactors reduce waste volume by around 5 times, so collections are less frequent. Part of the charge for disposal is the transport cost so you'll reduce that element, typically by 50-80%. By storing more waste in a refuse compactor, the number of collections is significantly reduced. You also avoid obscure costs with a transparent rate per tonne and transport fee (where wheelie bins typically have a huge cost per tonne disposal rate when calculating the average weight of a bin). Where it is uncompacted, the total weight of a typical skip with general waste could be as low as several hundred kilograms (kg). The smallest waste compactor comparatively will store at least 3,000 kg and the largest can normally comfortably compact betwen 9 – 12,000 kilograms. The second option are skip lift compactors, which are lifted vertically from where they are sat using chains, just like a skip. These models are smaller and take up less floor space and require less headroom. You also do not need as much space for the collecting vehicle or head height. This machine could sit in a parking bay with an adjacent vehicle to collect with ease. A skip lift compactor however, will compact between 3,000 – 6,000 kg of general waste.

Most organizations already use wheelie bins or skips. As waste volumes increase, so do the wheelie bins and disposal costs. Is it time to use a compactor? Where do you start?

Our robust wheelie bin presses are easy to operate and built to last. To get you off to a safe start we'll ensure you are provided with: They typically cost less as the bin is supplied by your waste management provider and have various options for sizing for small businesses up to large waste stations. All compaction equipment servicing and preventative maintenance is carried our by our own Safe Contractor accredited team of Engineers. 1100L Bin Presses For SaleImprove environmental impact: A reduction in the number of waste collections on your premises will not only reduce your costs but will also reduce your carbon footprint, by up to 80%. That's an important metric today and helpful if you have an environmental management system or have or are aiming for ISO14001 accreditation. The good news is, as suppliers of high quality commercial compactors, these instances are very much a rare occurrence. If you produce various different types of waste, you can use different 660L bins for each waste type to ensure as much of it is recycled as it prevents cross-contamination.

NHP-8: loading aperture of 800x570mm, compaction force of up to 8Tons, and a 3m3 bin size for rear end loading. Rotary compactor will reduce volumes by but requires a specialist polystyrene compactor for a more effective job with compaction of 40:1. Save operational space: By using a portable or static compactor with a bin lifter, you can empty each bin into the compactor, reducing the need for more bins and saving space. For added peace of mind, these models are designed to sit the bin off the ground during the compaction cycle to avoid damage to the bin wheels and base. Replacement waste bins and castor wheels are expensive so this is a very welcome feature. The operator is also kept safe with a two hand control. When waste is disposed of into a bin or skip in its loose and uncompacted state, the bin will commonly have significant ‘void space’.
