I learned things reading this book that I don't think I ever needed to know. BISCUIT GAME!!!!!!! Jeff/Hulk Boy I owe you. Issues #71–74 ( Five Bloody Fingers, written by David Hine) focus on Uboshita Satoshi, the friend of Emiko briefly seen in Gore Angels. When C-Day breaks out in Japan, Satoshi sets out to find his blood brothers, the Five Bloody Fingers, and help them survive C-Day. Finding Hazuki, the girl he loves (and one of his blood brothers) turns to be a harder task than he thought, as her father is a yakuza boss who is also on the lookout for her. The friends find themselves making a stand against the Crossed at a Japanese cosplay convention, where their blood oath may be tested with the relentless threat of the Crossed...assuming that Boss Yamada doesn't first feed them to Usama, his pet lion, in the end all 5 infect each other renewing their blood oath, becoming infected, and die fighting other Crossed.

Xander has been secretly working for the Rising. As a medical official, he swaps out the tablets given to Society newborns for tablets made by the Rising. These new tablets offer immunity to the red, memory-erasing pill as well as to a new and deadly plague. Ugh. I'm not sure that I truly understand the point to this. It was so far beyond gross (for me) that there is no way in hell I'm even slightly tempted to ever look at this again, much less read more of this title. Amaya Paquette is Festivalé's beautiful mystery. She spends her days caring for her younger brother and her nights transforming into Esmeralda, dancing for greedy eyes and shameless lips. Although she longs for love, she shies away from companionship, afraid of being abandoned again.
