About this deal

A seasonal dog ban exists on this family-friendly part sand, part single beach. There is a well equipped recently built surf life-saving club right on the beach which adds to the surfie feel this beach has. This little stretch of sand is completely secluded, and can be found beneath the grassy, granite cliffs Yes, the fourth cove in this list on the Lizard Peninsula. It seems to hog all the best Cornish coves. Coves from north Cornwall, including Daymer Bay, Porthilly, Trevone Bay, Harlyn, Constantine Bay, Hawker’s Cove, Treyarnon and St George’s Cove have been hand-painted in watercolour showing the depth and colour variations in the sea. The clean design and form of bone china complements the subtly changing shades of each cove resulting in a unique and highly collectible range of coastal tableware.

A short walk up onto The Island and you can have vistas across St Ives Bay and to Godrevy lighthouse. On the beachside is Porthgwidden Beach Café and Take Away & Bar where you can eat overlooking this lush bay. The eco-friendly café is a perfect spot to taste warm Cornish pasties and home-made cakes. Some of the best views of Penberth Harbour are from the coast path to the west but there is plenty of potential for shots with interesting foreground subjects such as the capstan.

A popular bodyboarding beach, it is very close to the town, shops, an arcade and restaurants/pubs. There are three pubs within walking distance of the beach which also has a harbour wall. Between July and September 1st, the beach here is not dog friendly. Situated just above the beach is the Kynance Cove Beach Cafe which has operated there for nearly 100 years. It’s an off-grid café but they do sell a cream tea! Flanked by luscious green cliffs, this sheltered bay is around a mile long and a short walk on the east side of the beach at low tide brings you to Porth Kidney sands where you’ll find an RSPB bird sanctuary. Just south of Land’s End, you’ll find the beautiful sandy cove of Nanjizal. This little cove is definitelyAlthough it's about an hour's walk (3.5km) to Nanjizal, it's well worth it. The beach is a picturesque boulder-strewn cove with crystal clear water and is also home to the Song of the Sea – a tall, narrow natural arch. Dog-friendly?Dogs are welcome to the beach excluding July and August between 10am and 6pm, when a seasonal ban is in place. You don’t have to be religious to appreciate this Cove, which takes its name from the church sitting at the edge of the beach. It’s one of the first beaches on the west side of the Lizard Peninsula, and part of an area of special scientific interest (SSSI) – playing home to unique or rare wildlife and geology. Readymoney Cove is easy to reach, only a 5-minute stroll from a car park and a great spot to while away a couple of hours with the family. 7. Cadgwith Cove

Penberth Cove is near the end of the South West Peninsula (just) on the South Cornwall coast, and is an ideal starting point for South West Coast walks in either direction. 10.Kynance Cove Parking:The National Trust car park is a quarter-of-a-mile up a steep lane, but only has space for five carsAt high tide, this tight little cove can be pretty wild as it braces the full force of the Atlantic. Surrounded by high cliffs, the beach is short and pebbly when the water is in but at low tide, the sand seems to stretch for miles and you can even walk all the way round to Porthtowan. water that lead up to it are a beautiful sight. You may also spot some ruins of an old watermill here.

safer to admire this little beach from the cliff tops. A safer option is to wait for low tide and walk

For wider views of Boscastle harbour I recommend visiting at high tide. My favourite view of the harbour and surrounding valley is from Penally Hill on a summer’s evening when the sun shines up the valley. Trevaunance Cove: The main beach for St Agnes with the remains of the old harbour to explore at low tide, a link to the fact that this area was part of Cornwall's industrial heritage and central to the original Poldark novels. Nowadays it's a family favourite with plenty to keep the kids amused, and nearby cafes and the Driftwood Spars pub just up the road. With the right sea conditions, the beach is popular with surfers, but it can also be dangerous and lifeguards are on duty during the main summer months. Parking is availiable nearby. Dogs are allowed on the beach but must be kept on leads. More Here. Visit nearby: Whilst exploring West Cornwall, take a wander across the man-made causeway leading to one of Cornwall’s most picturesque photo opportunities, the tidal island of St Michael’s Mount.
