About this deal

The third and final Mini Motorised tool is like a mini version of the Torque Drive. This is the one to reach for when doing stairs, dog beds and sofas, and it’s perhaps the only time you’ll ever need to use Boost mode. Although it’s not as efficient as Dyson’s similarly sized Tangle-Free Turbine Tool – as supplied with the corded Big Ball Animal 2 – the Mini Motorised tool still made a fair fist of removing most hair from the dog bed. Dyson v11 Absolute review: Filtering

For both hard floors and carpets there’s the absolutely excellent Torque Drive Motorhead which is comprised of a single high-RPM revolving brush with loads of space around it to prevent clogging. On the front there’s a three-way switch that raises or lowers two little gates for different suction levels. When open, larger items like cereals are also more easily collected. This is the brush head to use for both carpets and floors and definitely the one to choose if you have pets around. In Auto mode it collected more dog and cat hair than we thought possible and even Eco mode performed exceptionally well when used on a hard floor.Dyson V6 Fluffy: it comes with a roller head only, no brush with stiff bristles for carpet cleaning. Ideal for bare floors.

The Dyson Detect Slim is a smaller version of the V15. It does not perform as well on carpets as the V15 but is still pretty useful for all surfaces. It also has LED light on the soft roller and is very good on hard floors. If you want a lighter version for some carpet areas and mostly hard floors, the Dyson V12 is a perfect option. Dyson Omni-Glide vs. Micro I have mostly hard floors, would it be better if I get the Dyson V11 Torque Drive or go for the Dyson V10 Absolute? Price is about the same.

To say the Dyson V11 Torque Drive merely "cuts it" would be an understatement — it provided the easiest, most efficient cleaning experience I've had in a long time, maybe ever. I've used the vacuum for one year and it's made a big difference in the tidiness of my apartment. If you want a display and carpet identification then yes. If you are satisfied with the cleaning results of your V10 then probably no.

The big deal about this high torque cleaner head is that it can detect differences in floor surface and automatically change the suction power when appropriate, saving overall run time. This system, called the Dynamic Load Sensor (DLS) and unique to the V11, senses resistance at the cleaner head's brush bar — say, for example, when you run the vacuum from a hard floor onto a carpet — and adjusts accordingly. Dyson V6 Slim: the V6 Slim comes with a mini motorized cleaning head. It is 4,5 lbs. This vac is equipped with a motorized cleaner head and a combination tool. Not suitable for carpets. The oldest models have a motorized cleaner head. It is good for agitation but since it's old it is not as good as the newer upgraded heads. The newer Dyson cleaners have a direct-drive head. It has stiff bristles and a 75% bigger brush bar compared to the Dyson V6. The latest Dyson cordless vacuums are equipped with a Torque-drive head that offers 25% better cleaning performance compared to the direct-drive head (according to Dyson).

Allergy sufferers in particular will be glad to know that the v11 Absolute’s advanced filtering 'captures 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns', making this a valuable addition to Dyson's suite of wellness products, which also includes the Dyson Pure Cool Me air purifier. The Dyson V10 would be suitable as it lasts up to 60 minutes. Should be enough for such area. It is also good for carpets. If you want smart features such as a display and carpet boost, consider getting the V11. The display has a countdown timer that shows estimated cleaning time and maintenance information, allowing switching between cleaning modes.
