Garmin Venu 3/2/Plus: Press and hold the Action button at the top-right of the device for 15 seconds to switch the watch off. Press the button again for one second to switch it on. Unsurprisingly smaller than its big brother, the Garmin vívoactive 4s can handle Galileo, GLONASS and GPS and lasts up to 7 days on one charge. Incredibly practical, you'll find pre-installed programs for a huge array of different sports, from swimming to golf. Garmin vívoactive 4s - Main Points: Try removing your Garmin device from your Garmin Connect account and re-adding it. To do this, open Garmin Connect. Tap on the Menu button. Scroll down and select the device you want to remove. Garmin vivoactive 5/4/4S: Press and hold the Action button at the top-right of the device for 15 seconds to switch the watch off. Press the button again for one second to switch it on. Use device cleaning spray and a microfibre cloth to clean the surface. Dry it as soon as possible with another cloth.

As mentioned already, Garmin has tried to keep it consistent in terms of how you can remove bands from its watches. Though it can slightly differ between models. We've outlined how to do it for a few of the most popular models below: For missing data fields and sections on your watch or Garmin Connect, try hard restarting your devices and app. This should be your first port of call for most issues on the device.Notifications can also play a role in reducing the battery life of your device. Be sure to curate which apps are allowed to send through notifications. Open the Garmin Connect app on your phone, select Settings, and toggle off the apps you don’t need. Your new band should come with pins of its own. Use those and keep the old ones attached to the other bands. Simply insert the new strap into the lug and use the provided tools to screw in the screws at either end. The screen isn’t an AMOLED panel, as on the Venu, but rather a transflective memory-in-pixel display that’s easily legible in bright sunlight and, importantly, always on. The other main design changes are that the Vivoactive 4 has two buttons instead of one, and that it comes in two different sizes. It’s a great idea and something that works nicely alongside Garmin Coach. Set up via the Connect mobile app, this tool lets you create personalised training plans for races from 5k up to a half-marathon distances. Although that might sound like a feature for seasoned runners, it’s equally well suited to newbies who wish to set a goal of merely finishing rather than doing so within a certain time.

For running, walking, and trail running, the activity must last for at least 10 minutes on some devices and 15 minutes on the vivosport. If you own a Garmin Venu series device, you can find these controls in your watch’s Settings > System > Display menu. Whether that's the Garmin Fenix range, Vivoactive 4 or Venu 2 smartwatches, or running watches like the Forerunner 245 or 945, pretty much every Garmin watch has the ability to switch out straps.

Problem #6: Barometer and altimeter issues

The company also suggests completing the Heart Rate Zones setup too. Find these settings under Settings > User Profile > Heart Rate on your device. You can also tweak these settings later in Garmin Connect. Garmin support documents suggest activities need to meet the following criteria to provide a VO2 max estimate: Garmin Venu: Press and hold the Action button at the top-right of the device for 15 seconds to switch the watch off. Press the button again for one second to switch it on. Battery Gauge and Better Battery Meter are two of note, and should help visualize the battery drain over time. The Vivoactive 4S (as opposed to the regular 4) is aimed squarely at those with smaller wrists and although it is lighter – 40g vs 50.5g including strap – the tradeoff is that battery life isn’t as good. Otherwise, the features of the two models are identical. Garmin Vivoactive 4/4S review: Key new features
