I have always done drawing and making picture books, from a very young age. I studied illustration at Glasgow School of Art. I love all sorts of illustrators, and I am especially drawn to vintage children’s books that use limited colours, such as those by Roger Duvoisin and Nathalie Parain. Rowling's sister Dianne was born at their home when Rowling was 23 months old. The family moved to the nearby village Winterbourne when Rowling was four. She attended St Michael's Primary School, a school founded by abolitionist William Wilberforce and education reformer Hannah More. Her headmaster at St Michael's, Alfred Dunn, has been suggested as the inspiration for the Harry Potter headmaster Albus Dumbledore. When the first book came out, I was 11 and Harry was 11, so we grew up together, really. It was a big part of my formative years. Me and my best friend Charlotte would read it together, alternating chapters and trying not to read it when we were apart.
