An issue that causes the mic audio from game clips captured using console features to not save (Xbox Series X|S) Released in 1998, this was the first 3D title in the METAL GEAR series. The game pioneers 3D stealth action against the threat of war and global nuclear weapons, using live action footage, cinematic cut scenes, interwoven with innovative gameplay.

am rolls on, the door goes and my partner walks in with friends and kebabs in tow, (remember, this was before mobiles were absolutely everywhere), and said where you 2 been all night!!! Despite year one generally being slow for any new console, there still seems to be quite a lot of news being released daily. Lastly, according to the Switch version announcement video, strategy guides for each game will be included too. mgs2 and mgs3 are merely upscaled from 720p to 1080p and are NOT native 1080p. the picture is soft and you will not see much of a difference playing the ps3 hd collection on a modern tv since your tv will do the upscaling to 1080p anyways. a modder has already patched the collection so that it runs the games at 1080p and even 4k (with old textures of course) but that is a steep improvement over what konami released! konami does not deserve another dollar for the fans. stay away! Of course, the 'Vol. 1' part of the name has always suggested that Konami has plans to re-release more Metal Gear titles, but it's still nice to have what is seemingly some degree of confirmation. The biggest question for Metal Gear fans, of course, is what exactly is included in this collection. Here’s a bullet-pointed rundown:

Spin-off titles such as Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker appear to be left off, but at least all four main-line games are said to be included. Volume 1 line-up features the original titles and beginning of the METAL GEAR series, including the original versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid (which also includes VR Missions/Special Missions), and the HD Collection versions of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The different launchers is weird, but there's a reasoning for the decision, because you can choose to buy the games individually, so they count as separate titles. Could've handled it slightly better on PS5 though, with them all occupying one space on the home screen, like how you could switch between PS4 and PS5 versions of the same game. The following issues were listed by Konami as being "under investigation", with the company noting that: “We will continue to provide regular updates on future improvements and fixes as further details are finalized."Given the power Konami has access to in the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and top-of-the-range PCs, this is somewhat of a disappointment. So much more could have been done — even just on the purely resolution and frame rate end — to make these three classics shine once more. They still do as the unique direction of Hideo Kojima is clear to see, but it's smeared somewhat by PS1 pixels and dated PS3 visuals. When first announced, the core games were Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, and 3, with some confusion on what else was included. Later, it was confirmed Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake would also be part of the collection. Will you be playing the Metal Gear Solid series for the first time with the Master Collection, or are you looking to start another playthrough of the classic franchise? Share your plans in the comments below. See Also Naturally, the same goes for all of the games in this bundle. The only outlier is a shared Platinum between Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. Still, you can go after it twice over the two versions to maximise your trophy chasing. The PS2 Dynamic Duo Originally released in 1987, the first Metal Gear – directed by series creator Hideo Kojima, of course – adopted an isometric viewpoint, and was later ported to the Nintendo Entertainment System, which is the version we suspect the majority of you will be most familiar with. The sequel never actually made its way outside of its native Japan at first, but was eventually localised for the abovementioned Subsistence. Both actually represent pivotal parts of the Metal Gear plot, with the second game in particular connecting to Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.

Given the fact Konami has put Vol. 1 on the end of its Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection, it seems incredibly likely there'll be a Vol. 2 in the future. However, no official confirmation has been shared at the time of writing. There are rumours, though, which point to a second collection containing Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (presumably with Ground Zeroes bundled in), and Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker. I personally am thinking they're just not wanting to record a whole ass other video for credits. As anyone that has worked on them can tell you...it's actually not that simple to get credits up and running, it's an actual video file they put in the game most of the time, and it's kind of a pain to re-record, and who knows if their names are still the same? People could have gotten married, divorced, just changed their name. Patch 1.3.0 resolves the following issues, some of which are platform-specific, and you can peruse the complete list below: Curiously, there were still some aesthetic bugs from the HD Collection that hadn’t been fixed in the Master Collection during my playthrough, though a planned launch patch may again fix that. Here’s hoping it also fixes random freezing on PS5 while playing Metal Gear Solid 2, as I encountered three different instances where the game seized up for about 5 seconds before returning to normal. That really just shouldn’t be happening for a port of a 6th gen game to 9th gen hardware, no matter how you slice it. While 4Chan can often post false rumours, it does have a history of posting accurate leaks, so we will have to wait and see.

Fixed an issue where continually holding down certain buttons sometimes resulted in errors occuring (PlayStation 4) To play this game on PS5, your system may need to be updated to the latest system software. Although this game is playable on PS5, some features available on PS4 may be absent. See PlayStation.com/bc for more details. On top of that, the collection includes the Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2 digital graphic novels - fully-voiced digital comics depicting the events of the first two Metal Gear Solid games. The Master Collection pulls together more than just a handful of iconic Metal Gear games. Along with the first three games in the Metal Gear Solid series and a few classic Metal Gear titles, the collection includes a variety of digital books and videos to give you a comprehensive look at this beloved franchise.

Arnna Hmm.. nothing done to improve them? Well, the HD Collection never included MGS1. The two NES titles (MG1 & Snakes Revenge) were never re-released before. The MSX versions of MG1 & 2 previously were only accessible in MGS3 (leading to people unaware of this when buying the original collection) and are now accessible on their own. MGS1 Integral which had bonus features but was only in Japan is now playable. Visual and technical Bugs that were in the HD Collection have been fixed. Trophies were added to MG1, 2, and MGS. New trophies were added to MGS2 & 3. You can customize your save file in MGS1 Integral for the Mantis section. New disc swap animation and option to switch between different regions is expected. Oh, you can actually pause cutscenes now (albeit, there's a delay but a new feature nonetheless). I guess it's petty, but everyone is still credited in each game, so...idk doesn't seem like too big a deal. It is pretty petty, but also...it's so petty that I both don't really care, and think it's kinda funny they'd do this little thing just to slight Kojima.

Metal Gear: Snake's Revenge wasn't worked on by series creator Hideo Kojima, so it's not considered canon. This is simply a neat inclusion from the Master Collection; the actual sequel to Metal Gear is Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, not this. Play it if you like, but you're not missing out on much. Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection: What to Play First Said was I coming out I said nope, playing new game, he sat down on the floor in front of me to have a look and I kid you not, he was transfixed. Before there was Metal Gear Solid, there was Metal Gear. First released on the MSX, the Master Collection respects its roots by allowing you to experience the origins of the series. Played from a top-down perspective, these games are quite a lot different from the Metal Gear Solid entries, but they are important for continuing the story on from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. This isn't an essential playthrough, though. Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake Version Included Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was originally released for PlayStation 2 in 2004. The prequel to the original Metal Gear is set in the 1960s, and puts players in control of Naked Snake (aka Big Boss, the antagonist of the very first game in the franchise) on a mission set largely in Soviet Russia. Metal Gear Solid 3 introduced a camouflage-based layer to the franchise’s stealth-based gameplay, along with close-quarters combat mechanics. It's also worth mentioning that these three games were rumoured to be part of Vol. 2 months ago — so it's safe to say that the evidence is really starting to add up now.
