Self-Tappingor ‘stitching’ TEK screws are available for fixing trims to a metal sheet, or sheet to sheet on laps. I need a method to cover screws for a high end client at a blue chip event and Snap-caps fitted the bill perfectly, not only was the product great the range of colours gave a perfect finish. The only problem i have was deciding what shade of blue to choose!!!!!! Our butyl mastic tape can be used for sealing and weatherproofing side and end laps and flashings for a strong adhesion that will stand up to the elements.
Ensure you are using the correct-sized Snap-Cap for the fixing. Some imported fixings may not conform to British or EU standards, and the heads of the fixings may be up to 40% oversized
Ensure you are using the correct Washer type for the head of the fixing - you MUST use a CSK Washer with Countersunk-head fixings, and F/B Washer for all "flat-bottomed" fixings such as pan-heads, flange-heads etc. This effect can be easily confirmed, by examining vehicles that use hinge-caps over the number-plate fixings. Even on cars less than 6 months old, zinc-coated screws will show signs of advanced corrosion.

It all has to do with how gases and water vapour behave in enclosed spaces, and is governed by a few Laws of Physics, such as Boyle’s, Charles’, Dalton’s & Henry’s. In essence, once water enters a space (because it is not sealed properly) instead of the water evaporating out again later, it becomes water vapour and remains in the space for a much longer time. While cork may have more prestige than screw caps, using a cheaper option has its own benefits. You can always lower the price for customers who are looking for a bargain. This can potentially lead to increased sales.

In a climate such as the UK’s, this means the screw-head is continually in water & oxygen environment, never getting to dry out properly. This can cause the fastener to corrode (rust) up to 20 times faster than if a cap had NOT been used! Fitting the Cap to the Washer may require more force. It may also result in a white 'stress' ring forming around the perimeter of the cap. The white ring may disappear over time, especially if the caps are warmed up.

Aluminium cap screws are recyclable and reusable. You can reuse them for different crafts or recycle them for reuse in another way. TEK screws in a 65mm length with BAZ washers are used for corrugated sheeting to fix through the top of the corrugation into timber purlins. Working in Winter - Using Snap-Caps in Cold Weather
Very good product , i use these for all our hoarding projects. Very good customer service, very helpful and Professional. Recommended. Plastic screw caps are easy to apply. You do not need any gears or extra strength to put them on, and taking them off is just as easy. Plus, there is no risk of them splintering and leaving wood fragments in your wine as with cork. From start to finish the service was professional, prompt and friendly. The Snap-Caps will definitely be regular additions to the signs we produce, as they give the 'attention to detail' finish we really care about.
