About this deal

Overall, the Pioneer DDJ-REV1 provides an excellent basis for playing, perfect for learning and getting practice for those up-and-coming scratch battles. The bigger the jog wheels, the better for scratching. The jogs on the DDJ-REV1 are the same size as the ones on the DDJ-SR2, a popular controller that’s higher up in the Pioneer DJ range.

You should get an instant answer on whether your application has been successful, though in some rare cases Klarna or V12 may need to look at the application in more detail. Firstly, it’s good to see that Pioneer DJ has done this. You might have thought that as the company has its own software (Rekordbox) with its own supporting controller range, that we’d have seen the end of Serato controllers from Pioneer DJ, but not so. It looks like Pioneer DJ has been pragmatic, and that’s a good thing, as these units are traditionally very popular. VirtualDJ Pro Full is natively compatible with an impressive list of hardware from many manufacturers. And, with the full MIDI compatibility and the open plugin architecture, it can connect to virtually anything.

For the first time in a Pioneer DJ controller at this level, the output of the master audio is mixed with the sound from the microphone if you have one plugged in. This means you don’t need any external equipment such as a soundcard or separate mixer if you want to add speech or vocals to your performance and route it through your computer. All sounds are sent to Serato DJ Lite so you can stream from there. If an item can not be repaired, a similar alternative product or cash discount (as defined in this policy) will be offered Collection and delivery costs are included for the first 2 years in the event of an item becoming faulty Pioneer DJ DDJ-400– Not interested in scratching, take a look at Pioneer DJ’s entry-level controller aimed for club DJs!

Streaming is easy with the DDJREV1, and vocals or speech can be added with a connected microphone, a first for an entry-level DJ Controller. The audio goes straight to your laptop via Serato DJ Lite and into the stream, meaning there is no need for an external soundcard or mixer. Serato DJ Lite Integration

Tech spec

Overall, the pads are OK – just make sure you’re happy with their small size. They do look a bit odd at that size. Other points on the DDJ-REV1

Please note that this extended warranty is currently only available on products sold within the UK, EU or EEA, and is subject to the terms and conditions as detailed on the extended warranty certificate provided. If you think you want to play open format styles, parties, maybe a bit of performance DJing and scratching, the DDJ-REV1 would be a great entry-level unit for you. With it, you’ll develop the muscle memory for where to find everything on such set-ups, ready to one day move up to the DDJ-REV7, or even to real turntables and a mixer (or maybe Rane Twelves in lieu of the turntables). For the first time on a controller of this size, the microphone audio is sent to the laptop. Allowing the microphone to be recorded and streamed without the need for additional hardware! You will find below a small list of the best hardware for digital DJ one can find on the market today. Many of which come with a version of VirtualDJ Limited Edition (LE) so you can immediately start using your controller. The Pioneer DDJ-REV1 is a 2-channel DJ controller with a great scratch-style layout and provides a fantastic base for aspiring DJs who want to battle and play like a pro. The controller is Serato based and ideal for use with Serato DJ Lite Software. New Design Layout

VirtualDJ Pro Full can be used as a stand-alone software in case of emergency, but to truly unleash its power, you might want to connect it to some dedicated hardware. Take your performances to the next level with a free trial of Serato DJ Pro (paid permanent upgrade available separately) The ‘battle-style’ design refers to the unique layout that is normally reserved for analog turntables and mixers. The specialised design aids in scratching, allowing you to move the jog wheels with precision. The unique arrangement coupled with the cutting-edge design makes this one of the most comprehensive, affordable DJ controllers on the market.

Overall, the DDJ-REV1 is a more than worthy replacement for the DDJ-SB3, and should prove popular with Serato DJs of all types and levels.

REV DJ controllers are a series made for the DJ that wants the experience of using a turntable/mixer setup, with all the benefits of a controller. The layout is perfect for performing scratching techniques, familiarising yourself with a battle style configuration and even includes specialised features for open-format DJs. It’s particularly effective with scratch sounds (some are supplied with Serato), and I demo it in the accompanying video if you want to hear how it sounds. One of the best ways to stand out from other DJs is the way you use effects. As well as the 3-band EQ and trim filter pots, the REV1 has plenty of features to mix creatively. Unfortunately, the REV1 can only accept headphones with the smaller 1/8th inch TRRS port. We would have much-preferred Pioneer DJ to have equipped the REV1 with the larger 1/4inch port as well as we just don’t believe all beginner DJ’s use lower quality headphones. In Conclusion
