As I stepped into the mesmerizing world of "Dance of Thieves," I found myself captivated by a rhythm of political intrigue and masterful deception. This tale orchestrated a dance between kingdoms and characters, where steps were hidden in shadows, and motives remained veiled behind cunning smiles. We can never know the exact moment when someone will leave our lives forever. How many times had I bargained with the gods for one more day, one hour, just one minute. Was that too much to ask?One minute to say the unsaid things that were still trapped inside me. Or maybe I only wanted one more minute to say a real good-bye. ” There was a purity and honesty in the characters that I don’t see or comment on very often, which I felt made this an excellent choice for young adults. Lots of kissing – no sex, some swear words but no offensive language. Tame but still really interesting. So very well written in all. Review in a Nutshell: Dance of Thieves surprised me. I knew I would enjoy it, but I never expected to become completely obsessed with it. This book is so fun, and full of so many of the best possible tropes.

KAZI WAS A GREAT main character. I feel like more often than not in fantasy, the female character is always the "normal person" and then the guy is always the "badass" who gets to be morally grey and have all the cool powers. I loveddd how in this book, Kazi was the one in a secret military organization and Kazi was the one who was a renowned thief and had all the badass skills That's all I'll say about the plot. Be prepared - the book is looooong. But that means plenty of room for betrayal on multiple levels, and angst like you wouldn't believe. I did wish the pace was a bit snappier but I can't deny the richness of the world and the details put into the characters. And as always, I loved Mary's writing! Yes, I want to kiss you,Jase Ballenger. Not for show or to make the best of it. I want to kiss you because I want you, every part of you, even the parts that infuriate me beyond telling, because you’ve infected me with a poison that I don’t want to flush out, because you’re a mad viper twisting around my middle, cutting offThe novel is so focused on Kazi and Jase, however, that it relegates most of its supporting cast to brief mentions and broad stereotypes. Kazi’s fellow Rahtan warriors and Jase’s sisters would have been particularly interesting to spend more time with. (Maybe we can see more of them in the sequel?) The setting is so detailed

It's rare that the second book in a series is as good–or perhaps better–than the first, but that's the case here. . . . Anticipation for the next volume will start as soon as this one is put down." — Booklist, starred review WHAT A SPECTACULAR CONCLUSION TO THE SERIES! Though I must admit that the epilogue was a tad weird, it made a good conclusion to the book :) A definite 6 star read!! I though Dance of Thieves was amazing… but this one topped it all!! It was perfection from beginning to end and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the ending. I never expected Dance of Thieves to captivate me the way it did. I constantly have to struggle with my urge to reread it again and again (I’ve already failed this battle once, and I can tell I’ll be failing it again soon).

Success!

The head of the family is a poor soul Jase. A very proud family man, ready to do everything for his Family and for the people who live on his territory. Once upon a time, long long ago, before monsters roamed the earth, all the stars hung quietly in the sky, and great cities of wonder and light reached up to meet them.” If it's possible, it may have been even BETTER than the first book, Dance of Thieves. I don't think it's possible to feel so many ways at once; I FEEL LIKE MY HEART IS BEING TORN INTO A THOUSAND DIRECTIONS, BUT LEMME TELL YOU, PEEPS: THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING. In the words of Mustafier, absolutely splendiferous. The situation is: Kazi finally understands how stupid she is, goes to Jase to talk about bad men who were actually behind every crime she thought was the Ballengers'. This is what he answers): Kazi and Jase will have to work together if they want to stay clear from the slave laborers and get to the next town which is some hundreds of miles away. So they walk barefoot and chained a great distance.

I absolutely love this duology and Mary E. Pearson just knows how to write good endings!! Especially in this book here! Dance of Thieves plays to its strengths by focusing overwhelmingly on the will-they/won’t-they romance between leads Jase and Kazi. He’s the powerful new leader of a renegade outlaw clan; she’s a legendary thief. They meet, they get kidnapped, sparks fly. Most of the novel centers around their — admittedly, very interesting — love story, as they attempt to sort out whether they can ever be together in spite of their differing pasts, competing interests, and constant lies. If you love the thing where two very different people initially clash but end up falling for one another regardless, you’ll be extremely into this. It’s very well done, as such things go. Just maybe not what you initially expect. The main characters are greatWhat did they do to you, Kazi?” His voice was low, earnest. Even in the dim light, I was able to see the worry in his eyes. I pretended I didn’t know what he was talking about." Who did what?” So thank you Mary E. Pearson. Thank you for writing this world, this entire life that I got to be apart of. Women, am I right? Always thinking that men are some mind-readers who know exactly why the woman is upset

His scowl turned to a reluctant grin, and he replaced the dagger in its empty sheath. His bushy brows lifted, and he shook his head in approval. “Stay downwind, Ten.” Ballenger family is feared nad respected for the power they hold. In a family of problemakers and outlaws Jase is no exception. Taking on the role of the Hier and the ruler, he must now guide and make sure his kingdom is safe. But the arrival of a new group of people changes eveything for him Kazi discovers Wren and Synové at Hell’s Mouth and convinces Jase to lodge them and stop tailing her. She looks for Illarion at Tor’s Watch, while Jase meets with Garvin, Kazi’s tail, who is attempting to remember her prior identity. Kazi gets bitten by the venomous dogs of the Ballengers, but she hides it from Jase until she loses consciousness. Jase is perplexed as to what she was doing. He shows her the family vault, which she says she was seeking for and which indicates his ancestors created the continent’s first empire. She acts like a spoiled entitled brat - which is surprising, because her upbringing is very humble.. I also got spoiled for the Remnant Chronicles again, but whatever. I know that Kaden and Pauline are both from that series, and they appear in this book. The fact that I already know what's going to happen in the Kiss of Deception now is kind of making me want to push the book down on my tbr, because the reason I was so interested in that book is because of the plot twist that happens at the end of the first book, but now that I apparently know what happens, I don't feel like I want to read it as much anymore. Who knows, if someone can convince me, I just might be interested in reading it.Also, I think this Montegue guy was a great villain. He's a disgusting pig-headed person, but a good villain. A perfect cliffhanger. You could almost stop reading after DoT - but you won't want to because you love the characters so much. The enemies - lovers - enemies - lovers - enemies - lovers trope should have become tiresome but instead it was so carefully plotted and interwoven with the books political storyline that it felt integral to the book and very well done. I loved how brave they both were! They both worked hard to save each other. They were even ready to die for each other. That level of love omg I died
