Fitting the Cap to the Washer may require more force. It may also result in a white 'stress' ring forming around the perimeter of the cap. The Snap-Cap washer is available to suit either Countersunk screws, or for any of the ‘Flat-Bottom’ fixings (such as pan-head screws). Using the correct washer type will support your fixing properly, giving improved clamping performance and prevent the screw distorting the washer - crucial to why genuine Snap-Caps are the ONLY cover caps that COMPLETELY seal the head of the fixing. How to use Snap-Caps The Stem: Bifix caps have a patented stem, incorporating 16 tiny wings, or splines. When aligned properly in the screw-head, the splines push against each other, and against the walls of the central (circular) part of the drive recess, rather like tiny springs. Nobody wants to look at screw heads on their new sign so these provide the finishing touch leaving a professional looking installation. Fantastic range of colours to suit most jobs.
