My Thoughts: This book really took me on a rollercoaster. At the beginning I loved it and would’ve rated it 5 stars; the writing style was great and the story was cute. Then, in the middle, I strongly disliked it, and probably would’ve rated it 3 stars; the characters were annoying me and all the relationships seemed so toxic and I didn’t even want the love interests to end up together. However, at the end, I actually really liked it again, and it became a 4 star read; it didn’t end how I thought it was going to, and I really, REALLY liked the direction that it went. Erik J. Brown KNOWS how to write realistic, imperfect characters with believable dialogue. The characters in this book were all developed really well with distinct personalities, and the relationships were messy and flawed which made them even more realistic. It’s difficult to explain without spoiling anything, but i just have to say that i really really loved how everything concluded with the relationships, and i’m so glad that it went in the direction that i was hoping it would. Al and Willa aka 'the fairy grandfather and badass lesbian grandmother' were also the highlights of this story. I loved their no-nonsense attitude and their constant attempts to make Tommy see the error of his ways and the fault in his thinking. Ava was also a wonderful friend - the entire staff at the home were a fun lot, and I enjoyed reading their interactions and the ease in which they navigated themselves around the kitchen.

The title is perfectly fitted for this book, to lose him, she had to find herself, their growth apart made them better people for when they came together again. To not shoulder things as a whole but being able to lean on the other or others was their biggest learning curve. year-old Tommy works as a waiter at Sunset Estates, an upmarket retirement community where rule number one is ‘ Never say no‘ to the residents. He is hoping to follow in his late father’s footsteps by studying at La Mère Labont culinary school, but he needs something special to make his application stand out. Enter Gabriel De La Hoya, a childhood crush from summer camp who helped Tommy to realise he was gay and whom Tommy hasn’t seen for the last six years. Gabe turns up to work at Sunset Estates, and Tommy is assigned to train him. But while Tommy struggles to keep his feelings for Gabe under control, Gabe doesn’t even seem to recognise Tommy. Selena Gomez's new era in music began at midnight—and her first single, "Lose You to Love Me," is an emotional glimpse at her headspace over the last year. Gomez reflects on reclaiming herself at the end of a relationship, one fans speculated ahead of the song's release was probably hers with Justin Bieber.

Overall, this is not a romance novel at its core. It’s a book about figuring out who you are, and what you want to do with your life as a teenager because society expects you to do that. It challenged the “norm” and gave insight into the fact that not everyone’s life paths need to follow an identical formula. I loved every second I spent with these characters and I am very much looking forward for another book by Erik! Lose you to find me by B. Celeste is the 3rd book in the Linden University series and tells the story of Raine and Caleb. Erik Brown has this intriguing ability of making his characters so different from each other yet relatable all the same. Erik Brown has this intriguing ability of totally getting what I want from a book and delivering every time. (well, two times, as of now, but I bet there's gonna be more.) Caleb and Raine have been together forever. So after college graduation it's only natural that Caleb propose so they could start their future together. Only it doesn't have the happy ending he was expecting when Raine turns him down in front of everyone and breaks his heart. Since then Caleb's life has gone from bad to worse. He doesn't know how much more he can handle. Especially without the one person he thought he could always count on to be there for him.

I'm on the fence with this book.. I LOVED the first two books, so much so i finished them within 24 hours. This just fell short.. don't get me wrong it was an amazing book but i felt the whole time it was missing something. I honestly struggled with how to rate this book.. What would you do if you met your first love for the second time years later and he doesn’t remember you? Lose You to Find Me is a book about growing and finding yourself, and If you’re reading this review, I truly hope that you find yourself. At the bookstore- buying this book. Gomez's song tonight is her first public comment on her love life period since she was dating Bieber at the end of 2017 and early 2018. She wrote it with Finneas, Robin Fredriksson, Mattias Larsson, Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter, according to Genius. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a free eARC in exchange for an honest review!Tommy meets Gabriel again after Gabriel left one day at summer camp with his parents with no explanation, and Tommy was clearly nursing a long time crush on this guy that he'd put on a pedestal. But you should never meet your heroes. Erik’s a great YA storyteller, writing humorous and relatable characters just trying to figure themselves out during their senior year with college on the horizon. All the characters and their friendship were great. The growth and development - exceptional!

Though most of the lyrics can easily be written off as typical prose commonly found in sad-girl anthems, one verse seems to explicitly point toward Bieber. The dancing could figuratively be their on-off relationship cycles. And leaving Bieber behind, as Gomez ultimately did in March 2018, may have been her way of reprioritizing herself over him. Us Weekly suggested, when Jelena's break was first reported, that Bieber's selfishness was why Gomez pulled the trigger. “[He] doesn’t care about anyone but himself," a source told the outlet that month. "The second she saw it, she walked away, especially now with her health. She knows she doesn’t need him.” Verse 2: PDF / EPUB File Name: Lose_You_to_Find_Me_-_Erik_J_Brown.pdf, Lose_You_to_Find_Me_-_Erik_J_Brown.epub And omg, that kitchen scene - totally blindsided me! But, then again, this is the author who wrote the zombie apocalypse story, so I suppose there was going to be some darkness to this one, as well! 😅

I definitely think that Erik J. Brown is a new auto-buy author. I loved his first book, All That's Left in the World, and now I also love his second book too! This was really sweet and emotional and just so easy to read, I absolutely flew through it. The main takeaway from this book is about figuring out your future, and how it might not be exactly what you had planned but that that's okay, and I really love that. So much of this book is about romance, but so much of it is also about friendship, and the friendships within this book are OUTSTANDING. The characters are all really loveable, and sure they can be messy and dramatic, but that's part of being seventeen right? I applaud Erik J. Brown for 1. having the balls to NOT make the main romance of the book be the endgame, and 2. having the talent to make me love and root for Brad and Tommy despite rarely seeing them together until the last 10% of the book.

Brad, who ignored me at school but searched me out at parties in hopes of this fleeting moment where he could be himself. Warnings: swearing; implied sexual content; underage drinking; finger amputation; mentions of death; mentions of suicide) Just like " All That's Left in the World", this book was extremely easy to read. I flew through it (even though I didn’t like the story). Also, Erik J. Brown is good at writing MCs who are really fun to follow! Once again, I unfortunately ended up not liking Tommy (he was a shitty person), but it was really fun to be in his POV. Gabriel isn't a bad person, but he is messy and I enjoyed his character growth over the course of the book. He's flighty, he's forgetful, he definitely strings Tommy along despite having a boyfriend and it was clear that he and Tommy just were not a good fit. Ahead of the song's release, Gomez wrote on Vevo that the song was about several life events. "This song was inspired by many things that have happened in my life since releasing my last album," she said. "I want people to feel hope and to know you will come out the other side stronger and a better version of yourself."

As for the narration, I'm not sure -- I've listened to other stories performed by Kirt Graves and thought he did just fine. Perhaps it was a technical thing for this book but he didn't speak the words as "crisply" as he normally does, and overall he sounded very breathy, ending every sentence on the same note. Maybe planning everything out like it was a recipe wasn’t always the easiest way to live your life.”
