There are definitely some issues here if you are looking for a tough boot to last for years and years. Without that maintenance and extra care, these shoes could be a bit worn and less reliable after a couple of seasons. I can't say what the cause for other reviewers to get wet feet was - maybe they did get a bad pair - but when I tried the boots, they did remain dry. While there may still be some issues with the longevity of the weatherproofing, there shouldn’t be too many issues here as long as you get the right size. I've had these bad boys for just over 2 years now, and admittedly I don't do 8 mile walks every week, but I do wear these shoes most days, (I even chose them over my Doc's now!) as they are just the most comfortable boots I've ever owned, and they don't look half bad either (until I tore the laces)! The sole is a Vibram sole, rather than a lesser name, with good grip. The uppers of the Peter Storm walking boots are waterproof – to begin with at least – and you also get a nice mesh lining inside.

That got us thinking though, that we’re looking at every possible item from Peter Storm so it would be good to narrow our search down even further and only look at Peter Storm branded products within the Waterproof Leather category. The cost of Peter Storm Waterproof Leather This is a very affordable walking boot that looks like it should cost more than it does. This may mean that the components aren’t high end and may not last as long as you would hope for. The comfort and support over long distances are impressive and it seems that many women will be able to use this as their go-to shoe for walks and errands in bad weather. It might not last too many winters, but it doesn’t need to at this price. Therefore, these Peter Storm walking boots are a great option for those that want a reliable option that doesn’t try and do too much for too much money.

Reliably warm and waterproof, Peter Storm Women’s Snowdon II Walking Boots are like leather workhorses, perfect for wet-weather conditions

Altberg is another top-scoring boot brand from our survey. Its roots were laid in Richmond, North Yorkshire, in 1989, and its factory is still there today – as well as a second in Italy. The boots are handmade and the fit is something members seemed to like, awarding Altberg the full five stars in this category. Survey respondents loved that they could buy boots in half sizes and various widths - suiting those with both wide and narrow feet. But, that doesn’t mean that they are a bad choice in the short term. The fit and feel of these smart shoes are great for general use, such as dog-walking or weekend walks on the wetter ground. So, the Peter Storm boots could still prove to be a great choice. The boot held up well. No water came in, even when I held them under the water, completely covering the laces and the tongue. The shape of the boot, with its high lace-up closure, allow means a more supportive fit. There are no concerns from users about any ankle issues.

In this review of the Peter Storm Ormskirk walking boots, we give them a good dunking to see how waterproof they really are. *** There is a full shank for better support and a concealed midsole for more cushioning. Overall, most wearers seem to be happy with the fit and the feel of these shoes. There are lots of comments from wearers impressed with the comfort provided by this shoe. One states that they went out for a six-mile walk on the first day and had no issues at all.

Be careful of really good prices from some shops. Some things can cook like walking boots but are just trainers just dressed up. There are some great comments from wearers of these shoes about the comfort experienced – both long term and short term. Using the table: Survey (conducted in March and April 2021) is based on data from 3,118 Which? members who own walking boots bought since 2016. ‘-’ = there isn’t enough data. Average price paid is based on the mean amount members paid for their footwear. Customer score is based on satisfaction and whether members would recommend the brand. Zamberlan walking boots Lets’ start with the comfort provided by this Peter Storm walking boot. There is a strong upper across the foot that reaches up into a nice padded ankle. This looks like it will be great for longer walks, but there is more inside too.

While many wearers appreciate the comfort and protective features, there are others that worry about the longevity of the shoe. This is to be expected with something at this price point. The material the product is made from is often a sign of the quality for Waterproof Leather. Take a look at the product details over at Go Outdoors to get a feel for this. Now you wouldn't be trekking the Himalayas, but for the occasional hike with kids, there's no excuse not to kit yourself out. Things to look for when buying walking boots These Peter Storm Grizedale Walking Boots appear to offer more quality and comfort than other similarly-priced shoes.

The downside to buying online is that you can’t actually get hold of the product to try it out first. There is nothing to make them stand out in terms of design features, structural features for protection, or much else.
