Description

Year 9 entry into Oxford High is through two possible routes: pre-test entry and standard 13+ entry. Pre-test entry applicants are assessed while they are in Year 7. Standard 13+ entry applicants are assessed while in Year 8. Students need to be registered with their destination school somewhere between 1 and 4 years before intended entry, with two to three being the normal amount. Proper fraction button and Improper fraction button work as pair. When you choose the one the other is switched off.

As the name suggests, the 13 Plus exam is usually taken at the age of 13 when you are in year 8. The test is often referred to as a late transfer test and its purpose is to determine whether you should gain entry into Year 9 at the school. Stage Three: Written tests in maths and English, group activity/problem solving tasks (Saturday 13 January 2024) If you require financial assistance with paying the school fees, you should apply for a means-tested bursary. Bursaries can be awarded independently, or they can be coupled with a scholarship. Please see below for further details and recommendations on how to prepare for the Wycombe Abbey 13+ entrance examination.

Fun

Once you devise a specific study schedule and a structured approach towards 13+ exam preparation, you will be able to remove unnecessary stress from the preparation process and make it more manageable for your child. All boys who sit the entrance examinations are automatically considered for an academic scholarship; Scholarships are not means-tested. Scholarships range in value from 10% to one third of tuition fees. The English paper will examine comprehension and writing skills, including grammar, inference and punctuation. The Verbal Reasoning paper is designed to test and assess their logical thinking, use of English language and vocabulary.

First week in June for the majority of schools using ISEB papers. (There are also ISEB papers set in January and November, but the usage of these is less common). Established in 1596, Whitgift School is an independent day and boarding school in South Croydon, London. It occupies 45 acres of beautiful parkland including ponds and a spacious sports complex, alongside an array of state-of-the-art facilities. [ 1 ] Like anything around Common Entrance there is a lot of variety here, and you will no doubt find several schools that do not fit into these periods! That being said, the majority do seem to follow this pattern. Please see below for further details and recommendations on how to prepare for the Sevenoaks School 13 Plus entrance examination. The maths paper will assess your daughter’s problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills. The paper may include questions on number, measurement, geometry, algebra and statistics.

Our practice tests are age-appropriate, yet still challenging, corresponding perfectly with the demands of a competitive independent school’s 13+ entrance exam. Other than the age at which the test is taken, the largest difference is the contents of the test. The 11 Plus tests only cover 4 topics which include verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning as well as the standard maths and English. Because the Sevenoaks 13+ exam is taken in Year 7 rather than Year 8, we recommend using our 12+ resources to prepare.
