With its finely tuned stereo speaker system, the DUAL CUBE LX produces full, punchy guitar tones that belie the amp’s small footprint. Onboard Boss Effects More durable, and more portable than its predecessor – this lightweight and compact offering from Boss is manufactured with life on the road in mind. It’s powerful for its size too, you now have twice the output with 10 watts of delightfully crisp stereo tones and harmonics that can be tailored so you can always find your voice, anywhere you like. For those more intimate and quiet settings, you can enter the amp into Eco mode, which preserves the battery life so you can play for longer. There are even dedicated outputs that allow you to connect to a PA system or another CUBE Street II. The Mic mode was certainly up to snuff for vocals, but I found it provided a useful “blank slate” platform for guitars as well, delivering tone relatively free of coloration. The Boss Cube Street II now has a number of performance-enhancing features to reduce your mobile rig. Boss has added a Phrase Looper (45-second Stereo/90 Second Mono) and Vocal Harmoniser functionality, meaning your performances will stand out from the crowd. Add the optional Boss FS-6 to control the looper and harmoniser on the fly. Expensive for a small amp but in my opinion well worth the reduced price from GAK. Nice solid little unit and feels well built. Amp simulation presets are usually never too great on amps, but in this case they are not bad and can be edited using an app on a mobile device or when connected by USB to a computer. 3 user presets should be enough for most players and for its intended use. Great sound for such small speakers and EQ controls work well. The chorus, flanger and phaser effects are limited in functionality to (probably) the most commonly used parameters but are usable in most cases.

The DUAL CUBE LX features a range of stereo and mono effects that are ready to add depth and texture to your tone. Straight of the box you can access four modulation effects (Chorus, Flanger, Phase and Tremolo) or a Heavy Octave for instant fatness and weight. DUAL CUBE BASS LX

built in looper will replace the looper pedal in your setup. Controllable via footswitch and with a generous 90 second looping time, you can easily record long phrases to play over. Of course, with any busking amp, the unit needs to be battery-powered and battery life is a huge concern for street performers. The Cube Street II boasts a whopping 11 hours maximum battery life and is uses either x8 AA Ni-MH or alkaline batteries. You can gig with the confidence that no matter where you are, you have enough hours to power your performance or easily source some more AA batteries from most newsagents, garages or convenience stores.
