A great storyline, well written and with excellent characters, I really enjoyed this book and found it interesting and intriguing. But her race isn't physical. She must chase down the darkest paths of a psychopath's mind to find the answers to Matthew Farraday's whereabouts. SUNDAY SILENCE will definitely appeal to psychological thriller fans and repeat readers of Nicci French’s books.

Feel chills down your spine with the thrilling third novel in Nicci French's bestselling killer series . . . Something is horribly wrong. Tess is certain Poppy saw something—or something happened to her—that she’s too young to understand. Jason insists the weekend went off without a hitch. Doctors advise that Poppy may be reacting to her parents’ separation. And as the days go on, even Poppy’s disturbing memory seems to fade. Feel chills down your spine with the thrilling first novel in Nicci French's bestselling killer seriesThe subject of rape is one I find difficult to read, period. Although this book doesn’t go into graphic details, the reaction of parents, friends, police officers, and men in general, is enough to boil the blood and is both disturbing and emotional watching the victims suffer this way. But, sadly, this is most likely a more accurate depiction than I want to believe. The twists within the last few chapters left me thinking about it for hours after'5***** READER REVIEW Long time readers of this series are going to be surprised at the direction of this outstanding seventh outing for Dr.Frieda Klein and her friends. mood του βιβλίου, ίσως από την άλλη ότι ήθελα κι άλλο, λίγο επίσης ότι κάποια πράγματα νομίζω ότι δεν εξηγήθηκαν στο τέλος (πχ ποιος πήρε το βραχιολάκι, πού το βρήκε, γιατί τώρα και όχι παλιότερα), συν ότι το ποιος ήταν τελικά ο δολοφόνος και ο λόγος που διέπραξε το έγκλημα με ξενέρωσε. Frieda is the lead investigator in this story, and gets little help at all from her inspector friend. She is the one pounding the pavement, doing interviews, and trying to gather evidence, even DNA evidence, which was pretty far fetched.

Overall, I thought this chapter in the series was a lot better than the last. Now if I could only find a copy of the sixth book somewhere, I’ll be set to go. It's that quote by Maddie that irks me the most. And it says a lot about society that unfortunately a lot of people would agree with her. Women who aren't mothers, by choice or otherwise, are treated as a lower species, inhuman. And as a non-mother, I do take offence to that. It's possible to be a mother without being obnoxious and derogatory about it, but unfortunately Maddie... That she's a victim's mother is no excuse for her to lash out at innocent people like Frieda. The abduction of five-year-old Matthew Farraday provokes a national outcry and a desperate police hunt. And when a picture of his face is splashed over the newspapers, psychotherapist Frieda Klein is left troubled: one of her patients has been relating dreams in which he has a hunger for a child. A child he can describe in perfect detail, a child the spitting image of Matthew. Unfortunately this does not keep her friends and loved ones safe. I say friends and loved ones, but in Frieda's world they are one and the same. This was a calculating read, both in terms of the storyline and the killer. This was deftly plotted, the authors are skilled at creating an elaborate labyrinth that I never managed to work out on my own. The cast of characters is eccentric and interesting and I can see how long time readers of the series would have an emotional attachment to them. If you’re already a fan, I think you’re in for a treat! If you’re a newbie like me I would recommend giving this a shot! In 1987 Nicci had a son, Edgar, followed by a daughter, Anna, in 1988, but a year later her marriage to Colin Hughes broke down. This fourth installment in the Frieda Klein British mystery procedural is a bit of a departure from the previous chapters.

I jumped into this series with this book, yes it’s the seventh book, but I have heard so many amazing things about it and I just know I’ll never have the time to start at the beginning so I figured this was the perfect opportunity to see what all the hype is about. The end, with again another deus-ex-machina intervention from Dean, is a huge predictable disappointment as was the identity of the culprit, which could be easily identified. Fetishised: Gillian Anderson’s portrayal of DSI Stella Gibson in The Fall is subject to some lingering camera work. Photograph: Steffan Hill/BBC/Artists Studio The most recent victim's mother lashes out at Frieda: "Don't you talk to me in that calm voice. You don't understand. You'll never understand. You're not a mother. You're just a machine. You don't know what it feels like HERE."

Thursday’s Children is the fourth novel in the Frieda Klein psychological suspense series co-written by husband and wife team Nicci Gerard and Sean French. Given the titles of the novels, which all feature a day of the week, I guessed we’d be limited in the amount of novels this series would include. I found an old article saying there is expected to be 8 – one named for each day of the week and then a final novel to “bring resolution”. I started this series three books ago with #5. I can't say that Frieda is one of my favorite female protagonists yet but she has been growing on me. Her demeanor is aloof but she is intensely loyal and generous with her few friends, as they are to her. She says what she thinks without any sugarcoating which does not always make her a popular player. The Frieda Klein series includes the titles Blue Monday, Tuesday’s Gone, Waiting for Wednesday, Thursday’s Child (also published as Thursday’s Children), Friday on My Mind, Saturday Requiem(also published as Dark Saturday), Sunday Morning Coming Down (also published as Sunday Silence), and Day of the Dead. (The books’ American titles and covers are sometimes different from the British ones.) Is it strange to review an entire series in one review?
