SMART CADDIE by GOLFBUDDY is the best golf app that improves and manages your golf round. It provides not only the distance to the green but also the world's first dual map (satellite and graphic) on the watch app, allowing golfers to master the golf course in their desired way. GOLFBUDDY has been building and operating golf courses data for over 20 years, and it possesses the most reliable golf course database. Golfers can play a round of golf anywhere in the world as long as they have SMART CADDIE. Just as your golf swing is unique to you, so is the G5! They allow you to build a golf watch to suit your style with customizable color combinations. Choose your color case as well as two straps in a color of your choice. The new watch face, with multiple display layouts as well as a range of interchangeable colored straps, allows golfers to customize the G5 to their unique preferences. The style of the watch makes a perfect partner for any outfit and is super comfortable, I didn't even know I was wearing it at one point. Touch IP Technology shows you the distance to a target point of your choosing, while also showing the distance from the target point to the green. When you tap anywhere on the hole view, you will be provided with an intersection point, then you will have a distance to that point, as well as, a distance from that point to the green. The score input screen pops up automatically when you hole out, allowing you to record and manage your score for each hole without forgetting.

It was the only GPS watch in our group that has this functionality so scored major points versus its competitors on this front. It was frustrating that two of the features - slope calculation and green undulation - are only available on select golf courses in Korea, Japan and some in the US, so we weren't able to properly test that functionality here in the UK. The watch round function is very powerful. It provides various features beyond golf GPS watches and continuously updates them. It implements the distance to the green, a powerful hole map function, a smart score pop-up, and a club distance recommendation function on the watch.Key features such as Hole View gives you visability when the hole changes, so you will see an automatic flyover to get an idea of what to expect on that specific hole. Around the green, aim W12 will display the gradation of the slope of the green through different colors - blue being the lowest point of incline and red being the highest. This addition will give you a more realistic view of the course, resulting in more precision. A function that uses the compass sensor to indicate the direction of the center of the green, which is useful when the green location is not visible due to hills or bunkers.

Setting up the new GolfBuddy WTX watch was a little complicated and at times, frustrating. Admittedly, the version we used was an early one and some of the issues may have been ironed out since. Once it worked, it worked nicely - updating between holes automatically and offering the brand's excellent dynamic green view functionality (it provides a view of the green from the angle you are approaching). The screen sparks into life when you lift your wrist which reduces any potential faffing - although there were occasions when we had to repeat this action a couple of times to get the face to show. Some of the apps will actually be taking the yardages from your phone and displaying them on your phone, which isn't particularly helpful unless your bag is right next to you. If you're on the tee and your bag is 10 yards away, your watch could be displaying completely the wrong yardage.

Golf watches are one of the best investments in golf and are certainly worth it. Whether you want something affordable or you want to splash the cash, there is something for every golfer on the market. Thanks to the advances in technology, watches can now provide a vast amount of data that will help improve your game. It struggles a bit in comparison to Garmin's similarly luxe MARQ Golfer when it comes to core functionality, but on the other hand it is more of a 'proper' smartwatch when away from the course, with an OLED screen and full range of Google Wear OS features. FAQ What's the best golf GPS watch right now? Battery – Most of the best golf watches will last you two 18-hole rounds of golf on one charge, but if you’re on a golf holiday and forget your charger, there’s nothing you can do. The majority of golf lasers use replaceable batteries rather than rechargeable ones and will last for months, if not years, without needing to be replaced. Golf watches: FAQs
