About this deal

Regular maintenance washes with strong but pH neutral shampoos like CarPro Reset, TAC Mystic Bubble, regular Gyeon Bathe or Bathe Essence You should apply Gyeon Q² CanCoat EVO in a dry place out of direct sunlight. In all cases, prepare the surfaces you are going to treat in the normal way (wash > decontaminate > polish), and then do a wipe down with Gyeon Q²M Prep to ensure that they are spotlessly clean. For best results, spray Gyeon Q² CanCoat on to either the supplied microfibre towel or a PB Super Buffing Towel and immediately wipe it over a single panel to spread a thin, even film of product. Then refold the towel and continue buffing to fully remove the film and reveal an intense streak-free shine. Alternatively, mist a Meguiar's Even Coat Microfiber Applicator Pad with Gyeon Q² CanCoat EVO and wipe a thin, even film of product over a single panel at a time before buffing off with either the supplied microfibre towel or a PB Super Buffing Towel. Either way, you should aim to complete all of the buffing off within 1-2 minutes, i.e. before the coating begins to harden. I share most of my thoughts in the video but the ease of application and user experience is the same with CanCaot Evo. I always enjoyed the durability of the previous version so having more is a plus while keeping the overall user experience the same. It will more than likely exceed that up to 12 month durability claim. In anyone's opinion did I not apply this right ? Should I have used Gyeon prep instead of bilt hamber paint cleanser ?

I recently wrote my review on the new Gyeon Pure Evo coating which can be found here https://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=429437 I made some fundamental errors during my first attempt at using Can Coat. Since I had associated the product with other coatings, I treated it like a normal coating application. I sprayed the product onto a microfiber applicator and then spread the coating onto a section of the paint using overlapping, cross-hatch motions. I then wiped the residue away and moved on to the next section. This was easy enough, though I did notice some residual product or light streaking from time to time that required additional attention to completely remove. As I continued to work I began to understand that with this product, less is more. Over application provided no benefit. It just took more time, created more work, and made for a more stressful process. I had CanCoat last 15 months on a vehicle that was polished with Gyeon Primer Polished and maintained every now and then with Cure. I consider this a triple threat that just performs well.I have applied it outside with some issues on top panels (roof, hood) acting a bit worn off after a short period of time. Side panels were fine. Issue is its been applied in late fall with low temps and humid enviroment. It doesnt take long to cure (about 3h) but I still advise you do 2-3 coats on these panels and wait for warmer weather to do so or keep it in a garage if you can. Great product for what it is and it’s intended use as in a one time less labor less hard cost application. I want to start by saying Gyeon recently released its Evo line, which includes a seemingly improved formulation of CanCoat. But for the sake of this discussion I will only mention the original formula.

Was I expecting too much from the claims of self-cleaning/beading and this is normal for ceramic coatings or did I do something wrong? I didn't seem to have any problem applying it and the areas that I did do (bonnet and rear boot/bumper) looked pretty good afterwards. The car was then left in the garage overnight and not taken outside for 24 hours. If you are in not so ideal circumstances or have not applied a coating, this is a good product to try.I relation to beeding. I honestly don't think it's any better than wet coat. Maybe I need to apply cure on top........surely the rain would not have washed this off or reduced the hydrophic ability after 15-20 hrs? The fundamental purpose of Primer is to improve the ease with which very soft paint finishes can be prepared for the coating application process. It does this by finishing down extremely well, and by doing away with the need for the subsequent wipe down with Prep. However, it only does the latter if the car is left for ~24 hours after the Primer is applied, which isn't usually an issue if you are working indoors. Waxes, sealants, coatings… oh my! The paint protection industry is evolving every single day. New technology is pushing out new products faster and faster, and consumers now have so many options it can be a bit overwhelming. Today we are going to talk about one of those options, Gyeon CanCoat. It is extremely important to ensure the vehicle is thoroughly cleaned. A proper car wash should be done at the very least. Use Gyeon Prep to ensure the surface is free of any oils and be certain that everything is completely dry before applying Can Coat. The paint should be cool to the touch prior to application. Do not work in direct sunlight.

If you still have an older bottle of CanCoat, don't get rid of it. Use it as it is a great product. Once it is all used up then transition over to the Evo version.

Is it a Coating or a Sealant?

Outdoor Friendly. Meaning it can be applied outside but not in direct sun and avoid wet wet weather for the first 24 hours as it will affect the cure time (ie dew, rain). This will be a big hit for those that don't have access to a garage as it applies to all of the Gyeon coatings. One thing mentioned in the included maintenance book, is to apply Gyeon Cure as a precaution if planning to leave it outside. Q² Can Coat EVO offers more durable performance, improved visual enhancement and hydrophobic properties - all thanks to the updated EVO formula. It remains as easy to apply as it used to, now featuring even easier wipe off. Members and I of the detailing community cringe when we hear of any spray on product that has the name ‘ceramic’, ‘coat’, or ‘SI02 in it’. We have seen these (maintenance spray) products sold and detailing services with the application of these products offered with the blatantly misleading implication the consumer is getting comparable protection to a true ceramic coating.

You may like the idea of a paint coating, but you may be intimidated by the application process. Or maybe you simply don't have the time to allow your vehicle to cure for 12-24 hours before driving it. GYEON knows that just because you're busy, doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to enjoy extreme water beading and that's why they developed GYEON Q2 CANCOAT EVO! Although paint correction on a fully decontaminated surface is the main course in approving the aesthetics of your paint, I have noticed an amplification in the look of the paint after using CanCoat. Gyeon CanCoat has the ‘glass like gloss’ look a coating provides as seen below with this Audi RS5. If you are pressed for time, but do not want to sacrifice protection, grab yourself a can of the Gyeon CanCoat Evo today! Q² CanCoat EVO offers more durable performance, improved visual enhancement and hydrophobic properties - all thanks to the updated EVO formula. It remains as easy to apply as it used to, now featuring even easier wipe off.But this is the part of your articular I take issue with …”with coating qualities close to other traditional coatings” Similar yes but not entirely accurate when all things are considered. So for me the following comparison is an overarching con that casts a shadow on the pros Cancoat offers. Gyeon coatings have been completely redesigned and this technology has never used before in car coatings. Evo products utilize a world-first use of the fluoro-modified polisylazane technology that pushes the Evo line to the forefront of car coatings. This technology means extended durability, extreme chemical resistance, longer lasting performance, and only one layer is needed. It remains easy to apply and much easier wipe off than before. Simply spray onto a microfiber towel and wipe until you achieve full gloss. That is how easy it is to apply Q² CanCoat EVO! Now in its EVO form to provide you with a more durable yet easy to apply SiO2 based coating.
